Money Back Option if the HEST Folder does not ship as per countdown

And as far as your dealer being pissed. Well, he has the option of not buying from us if ESEE Knives is so bad. It's real simple.

Well that's funny because ESEE never even wrote a warranty on the knife or expressed anything to any dealer about it. It was a work in progress and we made no bones about that.

While you did say it would not be your normal 'no bs' warranty you did say that it would be a very fair warranty that you would work out later and never said it would have to be redeemed with another company. You stuck your neck out for a project you now have no control over.

Jesus Christ, it sounds like people only believe in something because ESEE was involved in it.

BINGO!

Nobody would have heard about this folder if it were not for ESEE. In fact its listed under ESEE in every dealer website I can find should let you know that people think its your knife backed by your reputation. You have a cult like following here and even off bladeforums and believe it or not, people will buy anything with your logo in it. Zippos, patches, and panties come to mind.

So, I guess we are the devil for helping jumpstart a knife company we believe in: DPx Gear.

Oh, so now that ESEE is no longer part of this it means the folder warranty plain sucks, huh? I think you might be surprised at what actually happens with the folder warranty now that we are no longer involved.

Jeff, don't let a few immature Knuckleheads get you all bent out of shape.

You run your business with dignity, honor, and honesty and thats why you have been around so long. It's also why you will continue be a staple in this industry.

This whole thing is precisely, I believe, why Jerry Busse has not made a production folder. Too many knuckleheads would expect the same no-questions warranty and beat on the knife with sledge hammers. I think it's a bit naive to expect an unconditional warranty to apply to a folder.

Why do you always get so dramatic. I never said the knife sucks, the warranty sucks, that you suck, and I certainly never said your the devil.

I just said that you misrepresented information on how little DPx was affiliated with you and that you used your reputation to promote the S out of them.

Nobody expected this, there is a massive thread with MANY replies in the ESEE sub-forum that proves it. Your comment I assume is to deflect from the fact ESEE will not be the ones to honor the warranty something that was never made clear.

I appreciate that Tony. I just find it simply amazing how people jump to conclusions based on fear (or maybe it's boredom and a desire to stir up shit). People get in their own little confort zone and if anything changes in their world they go nuts. Some surviviors, eh? No one yet knows what the warranty is going to be. No one knew what the warranty was going to be when they put down their money for the limited edition models. Everyone was told that the warranty would be fair and I know that it will be. I also find it amazing that a dealer would worry that ESEE's name is not on the product. Sounds to me like the dealer is more worried about making hay off a name than actually worry about wheter or not what he's selling is worth a shit. ESEE doesn't get into bed with bad people. Robert Young Pelton is a good man with a good line of gear. DPx Gear is going places and we are proud to see that happen.

Dude, the warranty was never made clear, Period!

And yes, Jerry Busse is a very smart man. In fact, I believe he's one of the smartest in the industry. ESEE could indeed lear a lot from Busse.

Wouldn't you WANT the actual manufacturer of the knife be the one to honor the warranty? I'm picturing here Mike Perrin with some paper clips and a soldering iron. :p

I have to ask brother mat, how many HEST folders do you have on order? If you do, then I would simply cancel my order and not worry about any of this because there are tons of people wanting to take your spot and buy one of these. At least that's what I would do instead of simply complaining about an issue that's not even an issue right now. Myabe you just like to hear yourself complain? Who knows.

I need 20 more pieces, so if there are any cancellations SEND THEM MY WAY!!!!

Wow, with that attitude I would refund your money now and note your information as to never do business with you.
I run a business, and there is no such thing as a guarantee on ship dates for any merchandise that is not in stock. Not to mention other unexpected delays. You are a totally unreasonable and unsattisfiable person. Good luck with that...

tonym, have to agree with you. I supervise a custom mill shop & ALL of our products are custom made one at a time. I would, nor could I, ever hit a project completion date within an hour. Hell, we are fortunate to be able to hit a day of the week. Our normal target dates are a 72-hour window. There are too many variables (absentism, deliveries, material failures, errors, etc.) to even list here that make it almost impossible to come within an hour of finished production date. Don't really know what to make of the post, maybe a joke turned 180* wrong now, trolling, or maybe a law student. My concern would be that the finished product lived up to what I would expect it to be.
Be safe.

So what is wrong with that. If you believed in someone or their idea, and if you called them a friend wouldn't you do everything you could to help them suceed?
I would put my reputation on the line to back a friend if I believed in them, and have done so.

This week an email is going out to each indivdiual dealer who pre-ordered HEST folders. These orders will be honored by DPx Gear, no problem. Robert has already assured us of that and we have no reason to doubt him.

Damn, the only thing that has really changed in this whole issue is the folders are now shipping from DPx Gear instead of ESEE to the dealers. All is well.

Exactly. We believe in KaBar and let them use our Izula handle, name and logo on one of their knives. We have no control over their warranty or manufacturing process but we believe them to be honorable people. They will do the right thing. Same with DPx. They're good folks with a good product line. It doesn't take ESEE holding their hand to make them that way. They did that on their own.

Me personally, none. But I'm worried I'm going to wake up on Dec 25 and find one or at least a order confirmation . Please take the time to think about how your actions effect others. I have to go around and make sure a family member has NOT pre-ordered me one.

I agree. :) They would never have done something like this.

Anyway I have said my piece, and an pleased to see that I was responded to without insults or jerkit smilies for the most part anyway. I wish for both parties to make fair decisions with dealers and customers in mind. With that said, best of luck to all involved.

I have never seen a post where there were 2 lines needed at the bottom of the post to show the people viewing it at one time, now I have . . . :)
