Falcor

You bought a knife under one name and then you used another name to communicate with us on #33 and 80# and you post here under another name. We told you that the knife is being prepared for mid December delivery.

It is a hand assembled, limited run work of art that is ordered by you, manufactured by Gianni at Lion Steel and then numbered and approved by me.

You sound unhappy. I don't want unhappy customers. I am refunding your money and the knives will be put up for sale on the DPxGear.com site.

I will not move from that point. There may be delays in hand made products but everyone (including myself) is eagerly awaiting this knife for Christmas delivery. You seem to miss that point. That I am a customer as well but I won't cut corners because as a customer I want the best knife that can be made.

I want to make a point to the fans and customers of DPx Gear. No one is forced to purchase, own or use our products and most importantly we are very responsive to your needs, ideas and wishes. When people don't play straight with us. They are out. Period. There are more than 250 people who want these numbered knives they way there were designed and without compromise.

As those you have been following the development and production of the knife we have been extremely engaged with the design, production and customer side of the process.

DPx Gear will not rush these knives out to make a buck

DPx Gear will guarantee and support our customers exactly the way they want to be supported in the area of quality, experience and satisfaction

DPx Gear will constantly gather together like-minded customers to seek their input in improving and perfecting our products. We seek out the best customers to create the best products.

DPx Gear will do business in an environment of trust, honesty and respect.

So Stephan, Falcor or Benedict or whoever. You have been voted off the DPx Gear island.

Your money will be refunded in full and the inventory available for sale on DPxGear.com

LOLZ! Now that, that is how business should be done...

Anyway I have said my piece, and an pleased to see that I was responded to without insults or jerkit smilies for the most part anyway. I wish for both parties to make fair decisions with dealers and customers in mind. With that said, best of luck to all involved.

Thank you sir. All is well. I assure you of that. One question though: what do you think Jerry Busse would charge me per hour to school me in the ways of the knife industry and make me a better person? At least he could possibley change my idea about ho much busllshit there is in this industry :D

Ryp i must say that i think your attitude to your customers is wrong, these are the same people who by giving you their hard earned cash made your idea a reality and this is the way you speak to them ?. Quote: "You have been voted off the DPx Gear island."

I also think that posting someones (Falcor) personal details on a public forum without his permission is not on.

RYP I still looking forward to this knife. This will be great.

Good reaction and good luck.

I will support DPX, ESEE and all other great companys.

Thank for your work and direct communication.

Andy

RYP, im glad that these wont get rushed out and they will be done right the first time

also i am glad to hear that you are anticipating delivery by Christmas, my only question is, is that Christmas delivery date for LE's only? 1st run and LE? thanks.

To the OP;

Put this DPX knife into perspective with everything else going on in the world and see if it's that important to you. You've got to calm down man.

Best post on this thread yet!

Let me get this straight. There is a person complaining about a warranty that is not under question regarding a knife he didn't order, but that might have been ordered, and the whole SNAFU appears to be about out where the knife will ship from? Is there a quadruple face palm option? More importantly, while I was typing this, did I miss the chance to snag the OP's now relinquished order? :p

Mac2 I am not a mass manufacturer, I am a guy who wants products that I can't get so I design them and make them. So ultimately if people want something that has been designed and tested in the places they are supposed to be used then DPx Gear is your brand.

I am above all, a person who won't make a product that makes a customer unhappy. So in his case there is nothing to discuss. I don't know who this person is but he has used different handles in approaching me and I can't play that. You don' have to make dumb threats, stamp your keyboard feet and hold your internet breath until you turn blue. You get made happy by simply stating your problem and it gets fixed. If we can't fix it at this stage we refund your money and another DPx Gear customer gets happy because he has a LE Knife. Pretty simple. After we ship knives we will have the best customer service program in the business. Just like I would want it. A no bullshit, fix it or replace it warranty for LE customers. Because I want happy customers for life.

I hope you understand that if someone does not want the product then I won't stand in their way. And if someone wants the product then I will move mountains to get it to them and keep them happy.

We have plenty of people on waiting lists that want these and honestly games are for kids, knives are for adults. :)

Better to be voted off the island than consumed by the people who live there. As for me I am enjoying a beautiful winter day with my grandson and making sure that there is nothing but love and happiness this Christmas season. :)

Those folks who want to be on the LE waiting list send an email to customerservice@dpxgear.com

Any one expecting shipment of a product that is not yet made on an exact date, and then threatening a company if they fail to meet that date is not respnsible for making anyone's idea a reality. Matter of fact, I don't thionk a person like that is living in reality.

His order is canceled, and I don't know of any other company with integrity that would accept that man's terms. The OP, got exactly what he wanted; his money back.

Well, I dont know about you, but I have been waiting patiently over at dpxgear.com for the chance to pick up another one! :D

Well after a few minutes of trying to figure out what the heck is going on... I'm good :)

The reality is most knife companies experience delays in a new knife. I've been a part of this forum since week 2, over twelve years and I have seen delays from just about every knife company on these boards. Kershaw, Spyderco, Benchmade, ZT, Microtech, Busse, Swamprat and a bunch that some of you guys haven't heard of because they don't exist anymore.

Do I like ESEE, Absolutely. Did I like that ESEE and DPX Gear were affiliated, Yes. Am I worried about my LE knife not being a part of the ESEE line up? Nope. The truth is Lion Steel is an excellent manufacturer who just this year won a major award at Blade. This isn't DPX scrambling to find someone to make the knife that I paid for. I'M STILL GETTING THE EXACT SAME KNIFE I THOUGHT I WAS YESTERDAY. So are you. I have no qualms with Gianni at Lionsteel and no qualms with dpxgear and RYP.
Still looking forward to a great knife and I am sure that the warranty will be fair although I am not really expecting to have to use it.

RYP did the right thing because I don't think you could have made the OP happy.

Travis

You nailed it! Great post.

Jeff and I met in Peru many years ago and we talked about doing something together. Just days later I was clobbered head on by a car on a mountain rode on a motorcycle so I knew it was bad luck.:)

That was ten years ago. So we did something together and after a couple of years and some great products we both realize that we work better apart. I am currently focused on working in high intensity combat areas and the gear (not just knives) that works there. Jeff does his survival stuff and makes solid products to support that market. Now if I can just get the fucker off my forum....

If nothing esle we can finally kill those damn "ESEE 3 or Izula vs the HEST?" posts ;)))

Shit, RYP, I'm here to haunt you with memories of Tingo Maria and other wicked things!

RYP, you know you’re in business when you get some cases of sand-gina in your forum on the first day.

Knives being made by hand in Italy. You guys (those complaining) better hope that customs doesn’t hang on to these knives and more than the count-down timer predicts or you’re all going to have to cancel your orders based on your big-ball statements you’ve made.

Like I said Adaman, I don't want unhappy customers and we are in this for the long run. Gianni and I update people on a weekly basis with actual photos of the production so I don't really know anyone that is that transparent and in sync. Deliver has been targeted for Christmas so once again we are working 24/7 towards that goal. I don't run the entire world so shit happens. When it does you will read it here first. You can't ask for much more than that.

And as I have said...and done... before we want 100% satisfaction in this process

I have not made any "big ball" statements..only deeds. :)
