Most no-nonse utilitarian blade you own.

My $30 Smith and Wesson Homeland Security Bowie.

Heavy as hell at 1lb 10oz, the sheath sucks, the Chinese 7Cr17 steel is terrible, but I use it all the time in the woods at the cottage. It takes a beating, but it shows.

It is a beast, but cuts just about anything and can get pretty sharp. It looks badass in stealthy all black too. Helps me release my inner Rambo. Plus it keeps the neighbors away.

The Gator is a classic.

They for sure are ugly but good utility knives.

For some reason, I never got one.

Seems a lot of people I knew had them at one point.

Just curious what your definition of ugly is ?
You think the Gerber gator and that pukko are ugly ?
not saying there's anything wrong with thinking they're ugly, but they're very simplistic and utilitarian looking and I don't see how one could find them ugly.
Maybe meh!, But outright ugly ?

There is no definition of ugly. It is an opinion.

It doesn't matter if you "don't see how one could find them ugly"...he does.

Opinel 6, 7 or 8, depending on needs or mood. The 6 gets carried the most, sometimes the 7, the 8 usually at home.

Most certainly!

Especially the Puukko. The Gator is not an expensive to make knife either and it kind'a shows but the Puukko is cheap, ugly and you can beat the snot out of it and it still works.

Nothing wrong with ugly if it works. Its obviously not bothering me in the slightest - I have the Puukko, the Mini Puukko, the Skrama (x2). Ive beaten the snot out of them and they carry on on. I like them a lot but they are still ugly. A beauty contest, they wont win. Maybe you have to have the Puukko in hand to tell...,I dont know.

They must be doing something right in Finland, since they cant keep ugly on the shelves - they are sold out again on some models.

Kershaw Tremor and RAT 1 have taken the brunt of nasty tasks for the past few years. Both cheap enough that I am not as careful as I am with my more expensive knives. But after all this time on the job they both lock up tight, and keep on ticking along. Honestly, I don't know how long they will last at this rate, probably longer than I will.

However, they just got bumped by a ZT Les George 0909. Wow, do I like this knife. After a few months of using it I have retired the RAT, and the Kershaw is on thin ice...

The most utilitarian has got to be any of my Mora Companions or Robusts. They are simple cutting tools, and that is it.
I have one on my fireplace mantle, one in my camping box, one in my backyard fire kit, and another floating somewhere... They are for the rare times I am running around the house without a knife on me. They are simple beaters that just work and can take what you throw at them, and if they break... no big deal to replace.

My most useful knife is my Bradford Guardian 3, though. When I am not in comfy clothes or pajamas, I have it on my belt and it can do anything I ask of it.

Enjoy.

The G3 sheath slips easily into a pocket; so comfy clothes and pajamas are no excuse, lol. (Admittedly, I don't generally transfer a knife into pajama pants before bed...but I can't say that I haven't gone to bed with a knife in my pocket.)

This video is where Mora knives are made, what language are they speaking in the video, I have tried the youtube auto-translate and set it to Swedish, Finish, Dutch, German, But i get nothing but gibberish.
