Knives at the museum. 😁

I went to the local Soria museum yesterday,I thought it was of particular interest how they made a flint and how they used them.

Maybe it will give Bill and Charlie an idea for a forum flint next year. 😁

The master knife maker in Albacete I bought knives from.
He makes all sorts some very elaborate as you can see and justifiably expensive.
As you know I like practical users.
I also found this old TEW for sale.

Edit not all in the pictures are his.

Johnnythefox Johnnythefox , nice write up and images. 👍.
A great ride as well, shame about the water! The knife museum is excellent isn't it, I visited a couple of times as there was so much to take in!
The knife maker you've pictured above is Juan Luis Vegara, a few of the knives he's made are in the museum.

Juan Luis Vergara's shop (I took the image in 2019).

Having a beer on the plaza outside his shop with a knife he made.

Wealth of beauty there, and a lot of beauty in other ways in Iberia too. Really like that 45€ one in the second to last picture. Can't make out if it's Wood or Blonde Horn...o_O You've had a fine trip all round.

Very worried about getting back to England.
Since I was in hospital I really feel the cold, last night I was freezing wearing all I had just walking, this morning it was 5c.
In other news Burgos is brilliant its the Knights festival this weekend, fantastic history behind the re conquest of Spain.
Met the Spanish army and took a photo, happy to pose for me.
Went in a museum and heard amazing music rehearsal.
It was Choral singers practising for today so I sneaked in to listen,it bfought a tear to my eye.
I found a rock and roll bar walking back lost last night.
Sticking to 2 small beers was hard especially after the bar man showed me a photo of Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon taken were he was standing.
Also tried my first Taco Bell, yuk but I was thirsty and needed a drink.
😁

Travelling solo you just have far more interactions and kindness showed to you.❤️

Necessity is the mother of invention.

It is the first time I have ever soldered yesterday when I had to repair my electronic gear change myself (I had to replace a sealed black box).

Now I can change gear again, though I dont often ride at this time of year it was mild (no sun though) so I went out for a road test.

Initially I thought just half an hour or so but I felt good and went for a couple of hours, keeping to the major roads to avoid the mud and leaves on the B roads.

All I can say is I love and enjoy riding my motorbike. 😁

I took my 2 blade trapper? with me as I like to do with new knives.

It feels good to have gotten out and about.

The burnt/brown/rusty backdrop to the Beaver is a WW2 Aircraft size Nissen hut now used as a showroom for very expensive cars.

"A Nissen hut is a prefabricated steel structure originally for military use, especially as barracks, made from a 210° portion of a cylindrical skin of corrugated iron. It was designed during the First World War by the Canadian-American-British engineer and inventor Major Peter Norman Nissen. It was used also extensively during the Second World War and was adapted as the similar Quonset hut in the United States".
