Moving away from folders towards fixed blades

Time to combine this with fixed blade pocket carry. Will use my Guardian 3 in an Architect sheath that Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley suggested. We will see how it works. Always have the Guardian 4 to belt carry

I've tried several times over the years to carry a smaller fixed blade. Smaller just because I've always worked a job that limits what I can carry. The most recent attempts were an Esee Izula and Xancudo both in S35VN and a Mora Eldris and light duty version. Both Esee knives have the hard plastic high retention sheaths that will pull right out the pocket before they ever let the knife go. Popping them loose with a thumb of course works but they are just too crazy tight for my taste. I did find a Kydex option for the Izula that works so I need to give that one a few more chances. Just didn't like a belt knife being so visible and can't find a pocket carry option for the Eldris twins.

I've seen some clever ways of clipping sheaths into pockets but it isn't as seamless as I'd like. One of the best answers I've seen, both for this and for keeping folder clips inside of pockets, involve sewing pockets within pockets but it's a whole thing and I've neither had the right kinds of starting pocket nor the energy to mess with it.

I used to have that done to my jeans pockets years ago and I'm not sure why I stopped. I really helped keep any pocket knife upright. Just had to make sure you could fish it out. Learned that the hard way dropping a SAK in the mini pocket and having to remove pants to get it back out...
