"Mr. Sandman, bring me a 2024 Forum Knife!"

Ahh, much like @r8shell I appreciate having the opportunity to make my annual unrequited request.

Ahem...

I would like a Bladeforums Whaler

Or a sailor's knife (with a marlinspike).
Just for reference, and to add some knives to the thread, here is a Whaler, a sailor's knife, and a scout knife for scale:
full
True... can't touch a Whaler under $400 otherwise!

To each his own but it'd take a lot more than $400 to get me to touch a whaler!

Very slept on show, what a despicable crew of individuals on that boat, top to bottom. In particular, that guy Sam Spruell just doesn't have the face to play a decent human, huh?

I also like your idea of a Laguiole of some sort. I'm only really into single bladed knives these days and I think that would be a unique and elegant direction to go in

Very well acted I thought, Colin Farrell was despicable.

I’m the opposite, I much prefer multiple blades but I do love laguiole’s.
I missed out on a forum knife this year (which is fine) so I’ll be happy to just get one next time whatever it is. Something that hasn’t been done or a bit different would be pretty neat though.

I've thrown this into multiple BOTM threads; so I might as well suggest it here, too.
A Buck 105 with a stacked leather handle (and, ideally, a steel upgrade)
I'm in for that if by steel upgrade you mean Buck's 425M. :) Has Buck ever done anything in AEB-L? That would be a fantastic choice.

How about Buck Knives Inc. Buck Knives Inc. brings back something from the 700 series like this 704 Maverick, or the similarly-sized three-bladed 703 Colt?

To set it apart as a Forum knife, they could do it in AEB-L which I believe would be a first for them. Or go the other way with a non-stainless like 5160 (something Buck already works with) so the patina-chasers on the porch are happy. (Not saying I’m not one…)

Hollow ground with rivets like the original. Original red color birch or rosewood, or stag. Nickel-silver or stainless. Bonus points if they bring back the script Buck on the tang or shield. Now THAT would be a killer forum knife!

You see, that's exactly what the problem is. People register on BF without an intention to actually chat about knives, start ramping up the post count to meet the required parameters to be allowed to buy one, and then vanish, leaving a trail of senseless posts. Or sometimes they stay and try to act like it wasn't only about buying a GEC, keeping with meaningless posts, which is even worse in my opinion.
The have never watched the Maltese Falcon, obviously.
