About CPM®-M4:
CPM-M4 is a high-speed, wear resistant, tool steel. It is non-stainless steel. Its high content of Molybdenum and Tungsten gives it a fine grain size, greater strength, hardness and toughness. It is a triple temper heat treat to make it as tough as possible without brittleness. The grinding combined with the triple temper heat treating process can cause warping up to 50 thousandths (.050) of an inch which is not enough to affect the performance of the knife. CPM-M4 will provide high edge retention and impact resistance with an Rc of 58-63, you’ll also find it’s relatively easy to sharpen.

awesome ive been waitin for this! will the M4 version be the same design? or are there changes to the blade and handle shape too? i loved the look of mule 1 but missed them. thanks- CB

Hmm, 58-63RC seems like a large spread? Regardless, I'm going to have to pull some cash from somewhere and grab one of these.

I'm reading that part of Kristi's post as a straight quote from a Crucible "fact sheet" and that those numbers represent the permissible RC range for the steel, rather than as an implication the Mules will vary that much.

my credit card is ready!
10:00 MDT is 18:00 where I live, so I won't even have to wake up during the night to be sure to get my MT pair.

:grumpy: I just spent alot of my money on a para-military, now im not sure if i'll be able to buy one,... yet.

Thank's for the advanced announcement.......  :D
This is good !!!!!
 ;)

Ok the wait is over! Loved the 52100, but how does 10am. MDT related to PST?

Pictures and specs please! :):)

It'll look just like the last Mule Knife with the same dimensional specs, just a different steel. That is the point of the project, to provide multiple steels all in the same knife design so folks can truly test which is "best". ;)

Very reasonably priced as well ,what a cool way to try M4.

I have the Mule1 and it is one of the best neck knives ever made when matched to one of On Scene Tacticals Mule sheaths. Here is mine with a few other nice sheaths especially the one for the Police.
