Hi Natlek,Leave flats , you will remove little steel from edge side .

Thanks Richard, I’ll get at it!If you choose to reprofile, do that directly as you did when you started. Then adjust the bevels if necessary. Just filing bevels at a steeper angle will not get you where you want to be.
You can reprofile edge side with angle grinder .Them mark center line on edge and start from there with bevels .And watch a few clips on you tube how to use a file correctly .Hi Natlek,
Hope all is well! I was wondering- how should I go about removing the material from the edge? Just keep filing in the jig but at a steeper angel? Or file horizontally across the edge? Or some other way I’m not thinking of?
Thanks!
That’s kinda what I was thinking too, this really helps visualize it. Good point with the sharpening being difficult I’ll try to bring the finger guard back. Thanks! Most guys leave .020-.040" at the edge before Heat Treating.
Maybe something like this? If you bring the area near the plunge cut up higher, you can reprofile and get some belly like a smaller Loveless Drop Point Hunter. Make the handle a bit slimmer maybe since it looks strange to have a wide handle and narrow blade IMHO

Having the plunge cut and guard meet up looks odd to me, so maybe bring the guard area back a bit further back so there is some room between the finger guard and the plunge cut? It will be hard to sharpen to the plunge cut with the finger guard there.
I think we might be back in action! Let me know if you still think I should still sidebar this one for now. Im eager to start on the next one knowing some of what I learned but this knife is like my child now, I just can’t give up on itif it were me, I'd take that knife and put it away for the time being and then start again.
