May I ask where you got it? I have one on order from knife center, and I'm dying to get it. They claim that I ordered in time, but who knows if Spyderco will be able to fill all their orders, or when that could be. I hate this part of the game.
S90V and carbon fiber handle sound nice on paper , but in reality it means nothing
You need to spend some more time with knives before you can say "S90V . . . in reality it means nothing." :foot:
I don't know about that , I probably been using knives before you even born , and I don't use them to cut toilet papers or open letters , I actually put real use on them
S90V , and all the other "super\uber steels" are massively overrated

I was trying not to get into this, but this thread has been helpful (no other thread has discussed weight of the CF version, for instance), and I'd rather not see it go in the direction it is clearly heading. Of his 31 posts, 17 discuss price and 14 are insulting or derogatory. It would be for the benefit of everyone just to move on. (I didn't realize that before I posted and apologize for contributing.)
I got in from KC as well. However, I believe I was one of the first to put in the pre-order.May I ask where you got it? I have one on order from knife center, and I'm dying to get it. IIRC, CTS-20CP ought to be Carpenter's own version of S90V, but with a touch more vanadium. It ought to make a cheaper alternative of S90V:thumbup:.Congratulations man! That is one beautiful knife. I'm in for two of the CTS-20P versions. I hope the performance is close to that of S90V. I own a Manix 2 in the XHP steel and love it so I am highly optimistic![]()
Perhaps the problem is that you're using the wrong steel for the task. I thought CTS-XHP was overrated when I dulled the blade cutting a few cases of corn. Then I later looked up the steel datasheet and noticed that "wear resistance" is not one of its selling points. It has good toughness(didn't find any chipping), it takes a razor edge and mirror finish easily, and it is very hard.I don't know about that , I probably been using knives before you even born , and I don't use them to cut toilet papers or open letters , I actually put real use on them

I agree with Vicious on CF, but S90V, which I admittedly have not tried, sounds awesome.
I recall Yablanowitz with his S90V Mili testimony-if that's not "real use" nothing is.
