My new shop! coming soon...

Your shop looks great so far, enjoying this thread very much! I'm jealous of your land, someday I'll be able to convince my family to move somewhere like this :) Do you or your wife show at any Renn Faires or the sort?

Thanks! I'm happy with how it is looking so far.

I haven't done any shows with my knives yet, I'd like to do a few a year if I ever have any extra to sell. :D

I built a divider wall today, check it out!

Nice! The man cave/hideout is coming along nicely. Will you be within baby cry distance, or at least baby monitor receiver distance? :D

For some odd reason that lone bucket is kinda poetic. Maybe I am just tired...

Nice shop!

Awesome! Thanks! That is my ladder/chair/tool caddy. :D

Much appreciated! :D A baby monitor should be fine but one of us will be in for a closer watch... no distractions with the power tools. :) We have less than 2 months until the due date!

I have been working on my shop all day, I insulated and finished the front doors as well as cutting all my wood for a huge heavy duty workbench. I'm pretty much done until the electric gets put in later this week, after that I will be pushing hard to finish it quickly.

I'm up and running!

I have to get everything official then I can insulate and sheetrock it. After that I plan on probably doing an epoxy floor right over the OSB... still looking into the floor. Once that stuff is done I'm going to move everything in!!!

I built a huge workbench today, pics of that soon. I left the top off so I can move it for inspection... can't wait to be able to move in!

did your electrician line load each 110 circuit or put gfci breakers in? I really need to rewire my garage, I am currently running on 20 amps, and two outlets! I really have to be careful to not overload it, and use only one tool at a time.

There are 4 20 amp, 120 volt circuits and each one has a GFCI at the first box so they are all protected.

There is also 3 20 amp 120 volt plugs on the ceiling for shop lights and an outdoor light too.

I also have 3 independent 240 volt 20 amp circuits for my grinder and whatever else that needs 240.

I have to say, I am really, really excited about this! My current shop has 1 220 outlet and 1 120 outlet!

Now I need to make a ton of knives! :D You guys are in luck! :D

Cool, never enough power outlets! Good thing they did line load on each circuit, that's the least expensive way to go for protection. Don't forget to have your fire extinguishers checked, or get new ones.

The electrician did a great job, he even charged me less than the quote! I am super happy with his work.

Great idea on the extinguishers, I'll get at least one for each room. I am doing everything possible to fireproof it as well, sheetrock on the walls and epoxy on the floor. I'll make sure any gap is caulked as well, I heard that is important for fireproofing.

Any tips have been most appreciated guys! Keep 'em coming!

I put together a massive workbench yesterday for my grinder. One day I hope to have a horizontal KMG on this bench and maybe a reverse speed 2 wheel grinder for sharpening.

I left the top plywood off for now so I can move it myself until I get the place finished out.

Thanks! That is the leg chopper, 24" long and zero bevel ground to a hair shaving edge. My cut has healed but the swelling has never gone down, I'm keeping a close eye on it... it is like a closed eye now! Still hurts.

I think I broke my leg in the same spot a few years back, lol I was in St.Vincent (where they filmed pirates of the Caribbean) we were getting into the "dollar bus," basically a VW bus they use for public transport, there was 21 of us in the bus... one guy kind of packs you in and I wasn't quite in when he slammed the door. Lol it was too funny though, 21 people in a VW bus... you have to sit/stand across from someone in every spot before they consider it "full." :D 2 tons of people and 30% grades, I was always afraid the brakes were going to go out.
