Well yours and mine would be 3 by then and Daniels will be 8-9 months old, so I think the older kids can watch the little one! Plus Daniel should be caught back up on sleep by then so maybe some midnight boardin is in order!

I'm really loving watching this thread Daniel.

Thanks Andy! I have really been enjoying checking out your new shop as well, looking good! I bet will both be making our first knives in the new shops soon!

Midnight boarding will be on! I'll have the ski jump built as well! ( I usually build a good one next to my driveway!) We were joking we should build a lift with a winch or something, my mountain makes a great ski hill! back in the day there was a ski hill on the mountain across the valley from me, also on the north face.

The electrical inspector was just by this morning and I am good to go!!! Now I can start finishing the building so I can move in!!! At the moment I'm actually excited that I'm going to be doing insulation/drywall, lol!

I have my epoxy coming in today hopefully. I'm using the exact same stuff I make my scales with. Floor-carta! :D

WooHoo!! The only thing I haven't seen on the floor plan is a mini fridge or kegerator? Where are you gonna keep all those bottles of red neck elbow grease cold in the summer?

Lol I have a small home brewery I run from time to time, I hope to set everything back up again once I have the space. I have a kegerator but I need to brew beer for it! I'm going to have it in the shop to double as a table for storage.

Whoa!

Don't forget to tie the walls together @ the top!

I seriously considered it but the 6' 6" ceiling would drive me nuts, I'll just have to do some snow removal when it gets bad. I might put in a high ceiling and still tie it together after that, not too sure. Lol it is stronger than my house I know that. Thanks for looking out for me brother!

I spent all day running back and forth to town, I now have all my insulation in and ready to put up!

Daniel, congrats on the progress of your new shop. It looks AWESOME. Now, the most important question............what beer are you gonna brew to celebrate the new shop...:D

Thanks!

How about an Amber Ale! 1# Crystal 60, 2 oz Chinook Hops, 10 pounds 2 row barley... :D

I need to find a keggle or something to boil in, I broke my last boiler. I haven't brewed in a little while, I'll take photos when I do! I keep saying I will brew up a new batch, I'm running low on home brewed beer. It takes 15 hour day to brew a batch from grain so once the new shop is set up I'll dedicate a day towards a batch!

I make up all my own recipes, that's half the fun. I used to brew gallon batches and ferment them in old Carlos Rossi wine bottles so I could try all my ideas. I got so carried away I once made my own lactobacillus culture for brewing a sour raspberry beer!

Lol I get carried away just talking about beer... :D

Ever do any mead? I really want to see if the local liquor store has any, and if I like it I might try brewing in the future. I am not much of a beer guy, but who knows, I might like homebrew ;).

Yes, lots of different Meads. They are fun to do and take a few years to age. They are a great way to get into brewing, you can just do honey and water or add lots of fruits and spices.

I have been doing tons of insulation work in the last few days...

Daniel that is looking great! I want to come make knives in your new shop!

The shop's moving along Daniel. Wish I had something like it in my back yard.

Thanks! I am lucky to be have my shop so close plus I can get extra work time in with no commute! :D

Looking good Daniel! You'll be cranking 'em out in no time.

Much appreciated! I can't wait!

I have been doing a ton (OK only maybe 1500 pounds worth :D ) of drywall in the last few days... no pics yet but I'll get some soon, it is kind of ugly, lol! That's what trim is for!
