Maybe we should change the subject to religion and politics until we calm down.

It appears to me that Darrel Ralph is handling this situation very honorably. Custom knives do get modified over time, this is enevitable. My models, change in very minor ways all the time. This is part of the Custom Knife lure. They are not all the same. I think that Darrel as been very fair with offering to make any situation right, and I for one respect him for that. We are all human here, and we all make mistakes. What makes Darrel Ralph stand out is the fact that he is willing to make right any mistakes he makes. I have read many reviews of Darrels knives, and most people seem to absolutely love his knives. I look forward to getting to see on myself some day, as I have not yet had that priveledge.

Just my opinion,

Darrel is Nbr. 1 in my book(along with Kit Carson) - they make awesome knives and stand behind them more than 100% - they go above & beyond what they need to do without being asked. They are gentlemen of the highest order and awhole lot of fun to talk to. Both have told me to go out & use their knives hard & beat 'em up so I can send them back for refurbishing and then beat 'em up some more. Now that is what I call standing behind your product. Darrel definately doesn't deserve any criticism - besides things can shift slightly after leaving the shop once they are used. The fact that something can get out of alignment and needs to be tuned up doesn't mean the product is bad(why do you think you take your car in periodically for tune-ups? you don't throw the car away!). Just be glad there are makers out there like Darrel & Kit & many, many others. Kajnin makes a valid point that we should strive to get things right the first time BUT; 1)his manner of presentation could stand some "adjustment" 2)being human precludes that things are going to be perfect every time, instead of attacking the person for not being perfect, let the maker do what he does best which is fix the problem. Rant mode off!

Tiger, I think You've spent too much time watching "Profiler" on TV. I sense hostility and anger from you Tiger? Why is that? All I'm doing is badmouthing the Apogee? What does that have to do with you man? Butt out. And stop analyzing strangers, you don't know crap about me. Besides, I'm much sicker than your primitive mind can comprehend.

Jackyl, you still don't know what you talking about. It's okay, you can stop proving yourself to me. It's quite okay to be insecure. It's good that you learned that much from your "Internet for Dummies" book. I'm quite proud of you.

PENGUIN, "his manner of presentation could stand some "adjustment" Geez PENGUIN, you think so? You have a talent for stating the obvious.
If custom knives need to be "revised" than I don't think I'll be interested in them anymore. You do make good points though.
If I'm spending $450, I damn well expect perfection. Besides, production folders are getting better and better every year. Soon so called "custom" folders will be nothing but the same production folders but with the maker's name on it.

Since this thread has devolved into character issues and simple differences of opinion and is no longer concerned with knives I think that it should be locked to prevent further abuse of the system.

Okay fellas, time to close shop. Discussions have digressed and is now counter-productive in light of the original topic
