My newest creation.

If you EVER decide to sell some...you know where to find an enthusiastic clientele.

D**n fine work!

Thanks for the kind words guys. It was a good deal of work, but I like it, for the most part. :) This one took so long I had time to sleep on it mid way through the process and that's when I came up with trying a MOLLE type set up. As for selling it, you never know what you might see on the exchange in the future. I made that HOGSTACLE sheath intending to keep it, but cash was more important. If I don't find a job by the time my son goes to preschool in the fall, I might take an order or two. :D

Wow.

OK, I'm a little bit behind the ball here, but I just now discovered this thread and I had to post. Pro, I have a few questions if you don't mind. How long have you been making sheaths, and could you list the tools you used to make this? Is there a tutorial online for making leather sheaths? I'm particularly interested to learn the process for wet molding the leather to the knife.

That sheath is killer.

I started making sheaths out of leather two maybe three years ago. I would say that this one makes the 14th one I have attempted and 12th that reached completion. I have a couple in various stages of completion for Anorexic Badger III's. One just needs waterproofing and it fits one of the ABALEs nicely, so I'll have to finish it one of these days. Tools? I have a set of exacto type knives, a stitch counting tool, a groover, an edge beveler and some needles. If you want to learn to make sheaths, there is one place I can send you to do a ton of reading and research.

WHAT?!!!!!! Not Pig skin!! Blasphmey. LOL

I don't think I can get pigskin in the weight I need for something this size. :D

Is there a rivit rubbing the handle?

If you are referring to the handle on the strap side, no, there is no rivet. I have the strap free floating in a slot that is just big enough for the strap. I put it through the slot and then mount the snap hardware. The slots aren't big enough for the snaps to go through without really jerking the whole thing through. I have this thing about straps and them being easily replaced in case you cut the crap out of them taking your blade in and out.

Great Job........and AWESOME pictures......John I really think that you

"BROUGHT IT":) :) :)

I had to.......cause you did.............

Wow! You werent kidding when you said it was rather involved! Looks great to me. :)

What made ya go with the sinew? I dont get to work with it as much as I used to, its great stuff.

I like the swivel loop, kind of a stable version of a dangler, cool. :)

I wasn't ignoring you Dwayne, I just missed your post. I went with sinew just because it wasn't white and it was less headache than trying to find just the right kind of black thread. It actually goes better with the vinegaroon dye. The swivel is very stable even when packing the extra weight of the LE (but I think you might need suspenders for that monster in this thing).

Out of curiosity, if I were to be crazy enough to make a couple more of these, who might be interested in one? I am not soliciting orders, just trying to guage the market. Send me an email, do not post an "I'll take one" here.

Nice work. Just shows what you can do when you try. Seeing your work is an inspiration. I'm gonna work that much harder on my stuff
