My newest creation.

Good work progunner.

I recently got two of your Kydex Desert Jack Sheaths from the Swamp Rat Company Store. They are very nice and inexpensive also. I think Swamp Rat has one more. If I had another Desert Jack I would buy it in a heart beat.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

If you can sew leather like that you can always open a shop on Folsom St. in San Francisco. That is where the “leather boys” from the Castro get their stuff.

Good grief Progunner! That sheath is one Bad MamaJama! Truely a work of art.

Tony, I am not sure what any of those things are, but SF, "leather boys" and Folsom make me think I don't want to have a thing to do with that whole scene. :)

I really really like the swivel... its a very intelligent design and looks a whole lot sturdier than a hanging dangler..

You can make one for a battle rat??

Yowza!!! . . . I must have at least one of those. . . .errrr. . . make that 2. . . Garth just saw this and freaked out as well. . . . .Very Cool!!!!

Man, I got some new stuff from Maxpedition today and I am messing with this monster and putting different stuff together just to see what I can come up with. If I get some decent sun light tomorrow afternoon, I'll post some pics of my new set up. For those who have expressed interest in one of these either through email or PM, I hear you. I want to take some time with this original and see if I can work some bugs out. There are a few bugs on the original, like you can't use the short malice clips due to the width of the straps. The Long ones work just fine, but you have a good deal of strap left over here and there. It doesn't bother me all that much, but I imagine I can tweak it so you can get away with the short ones.

I can't say much that hasn't already been said, but that thing is awesome. Just one question. If you only do so many, would you allow Dwayne to make use of the design to keep the rest of us happy??

I have a hand full of guys who said they want one. I am waiting on some supplies to get here before I start cranking more out. These take a while mind you. I cut the pieces out from the patterns by hand (my least favorite part of the job by the way), saddle stitch them by hand and do everything else with hand tools and a drill press and the occasional belt sander to even up edges. A side note, I cut three of these out the other day and between feedings, diaper changes etc it took me something like three hours to get all the pieces cut out, no die cutting going on over here :(. One thing I did not mention is the dye, if you want them the color of the one pictured, that alone take a while since it is vinegar based, unless you don't mind a sheath that smells like salad dressing. :) I can also do them in a natural honey brown tone (like the HOGSJTACLE sheath I posted a while back), basically the veg tanned leather is just treated for weatherproofing. I chose to do this one dark because of the color combo of my knife, but I can do them either way.

I have no right to the design as I pretty much borrowed from here and there, so I suppose there is nothing stopping Dwayne from doing one like it, we sheath makers tend to share our knowledge with one another. Knowing that I plan to make more of them as my time allows, I would think he would decline, but I might be wrong. That is between the two of you if you so choose to ask him.

color is not that important to me. i would actually prefer the brown, especially if it saves you a bit of work.

i guess im also assuming you got my email and i am on the list. :)
