I have a feeling it's cause in general Canadians aren't quite as... curt as Americans. That is definitely crazy that he was giving you a ticket for 5 over. Usually they don't give tickets for less than 7 but some cops, are well... Umm... curt.Hah. That only works on our side of the boarder. I got pulled over doing 60mph in a 55mph zone in New York. The officer was about to write me a ticket when my (now) father in-law got out of the vehicle walked over to the cop car and came back and handed me license and insurance back and said "lets go". He used to be an RCMP and just flashed his badge and code blue he let us go. But I was going to get a ticket for 5 over...
I like the "Chicago Mile" it's 8 city blocks. Of course I have no idea how long that ACTUALLY is LOL!I figure the US will never convert to metric because kilometers are just so damn weak.
Personally, I prefer Nautical Miles1800km per nm. Now THAT's a mile! And it accounts for the curvature of the earth...

And now for something completely different!
My family is jewish which generally means gifts of underwear and socks. So, my dad gave me a gift end of last week and it was underwear, pretty standard except I did a little looking into them because there are some "peculiarities" such as this pouch. Turns out though to be WICKED comfortable.

With just a little bit more research and I found out they are like $30 per pair! But oh my glob they are great!
A good sledge hammer thread would be up for debate.

I'm thinking of going all Draconian and turning Becker into the BFC equivalent of the BCUSA "Cooking & Water Purification" subforum.
I'll just start locking anything related to knives, and the only acceptable thread topics will be stoves, cooksets, or cooking.
On a conciliatory note, the Cast Iron thread would stay unlocked.![]()

I'm good as long as the Cast Iron thread stays alive! All about priorities!

It's funny (to me) cause I'm a petrol-head. I like knives, I LOVE cars! So I watch a lot of car shows (Top Gear, Fifth gear, etc) and they are usually using the metric system for measuring speed. So I've spent a lot of time doing conversions from MPH to KmPH. It's to the point it's just inherent now.
I was driving from Chicago to Toronto for a funeral several years ago. I got into Windsor and the speed limit signs started popping up. However they were posted in Km/H without SAYING Km/h. So from Windsor to Toronto I was doing 100-110 mph (150-175km/h) only got pulled over once and pulled the quintessenial "Sorry sir, I'm this redneck hick from 'Merica!" and got off with NOTHING, he just sat there explaining that in Canada they use Km/h and that it's about 60mph so if I just stay at there I'll be fine.
don't make me change every post you've made that i can edit into "see ya"![]()
I wonder how well that would scale to avatar size.
I'm ready for some warmer weather: http://catfishtraining.com/hooking-live-sunfish
Unless you can whip up some code, see ya in 2015. It shakes out to about 129 edits per day for the rest of the year.![]()
