My son can use your support (please read)

Ladies and Gents, it has been a long day and your continued support has been a boon of energy in an otherwise exhausting day. Madden coming off of anesthesia in the ICU was quite a spectacle, which I was glad I was present, albeit somewhat scary. Since then he has managed to pull out about half the tubes and needles in himself. Since his vitals have remained strong, the doctors have seen no need to put anything back in. At this point he is operating totally on his own and soundly asleep, so I'll enjoy a meal of Jack Links jerky and peanut butter filled pretzels. We continue to move in the right direction and the main goal now is to get him off most of the meds and the hardware out of him. All this little boy wants to do is go home and we have to see him through at least 4 more days to reach that goal.

Glad to hear it Justen. Tough little man you've got yourself. I can't imagine what's he has gone through.

Stay strong, you have the thoughts and hearts of myself and many other directed towards you.
 
Glad to hear everything went well and recovery is progressing nicely. You all stay strong. We are pulling for Madden.

You're a trooper Madden. We are so very glad that your surgery went well and can't wait to see a smile on your face!
Now, tell your Dad to put down the snacks and take in some of that delicious hospital food :p
 
Sorry I missed this, continued smoke and prayers Madden goin' up from NEPA for a speedy recovery.
 
Just wanted to let everyone know your prayers are being answered and the smoke signals are being read loud and clear. Madden is checked out of the ICU ahead of schedule and he is down to his chest tube and just a couple other lines. We have our own room now, so Kristi and I can spend all of our time with him with most of the comforts of home and all our stuff.

We are doing as well as we can, thanks for asking Andy! Just keep the prayers coming and hopefully we'll continue down this path and get to go home early. It is Madden's only request. All of you stay focused on the task at hand, do your best at what you do and don't let any distractions deter you from it and keep a clear perspective. This week is just another reminder of how precious, fragile and short our time is here. Our family appreciates the time and energy you all have been able to carve out for us these past few days. The prayers are being reciprocated. God bless all of you.

Thanks for the updates, especially given the pressures you all are under. Know that we got your back with prayers and best wishes (and smoke signals and shaman dances and...).

Make sure to eat some real meals and get some rest though. Poor diet and standing watch all the time can take a toll on you quicker than you think.

Believe me Justen, your week has helped keep the other events of this week in perspective.

Tell your boy that we just about got ourselves in some good ol' trouble last night out at my place, in his honor. Never could get the go-kart running, but there was smoke, fire, lead...and prayers. Lots of prayers.
