Mykl Clark of Brownswood Tx - Bad News!

Sounds ominous to me, it may be that something foul has happened to him and isn't able to be contacted or in a place to respond.

I would certainly give him the benefit of the doubt.

I've 'talked' email wise with him a long time ago and never got the feeling that he was not on the up and up, seemed to be a man of his word, so if someone can do a door visit, maybe we'll find out what has happened to him and clear this mystery.

G2

edited to add, did a quick check on a couple forums and looks like the last time he posted to any threads was near the end of November beginning of December...

Exactly right G2. I always try and give a fella the benefit of the doubt. Seems like he disappeared 11/30-12/1 or so. I sure hope he is alright... and has a good explanation...

ok.....if we're going to cut some slack (which I'm all for doing).....has anyone called? Is it clearly still his number? still his address?

I found this online at yahoo's people search:

Michael Clark
2001 Slayden St
Brownwood, TX
(325) 646-8081

It's public information, so nobody flame me for posting it. :p

I am all for giving him the benefit of any doubt. Maybe a friendly visit by one of the forum members in TX to see if he is OK would be a good idea? Just to be clear the address/phone number posted by Daniel are not the same ones given by Mykl for the passarounds and may not be the same person. If anyone needs the contact info given, please email me….

I've met mykl a few times and he is a good fellow, I just cant figure out what happened here. I havent been able to contact him either, and frankly I am more than a little worried about him. People like him dont just simply vanish. I hope this works out, I just want to know that he is ok.

Perhaps he just moved and hasn't settled in? who knows...

When I moved last summer, it took me a full month to get through just 80% of the boxes. 2 months later, finally unpacked the last one.

Is there anybody nearby that could drive by to check the addy?

If he had wanted to make himself disappear, he would've taken his links off his sig. line.....or taken down the webpages, etc. But all that stuff's still there, untouched.

Last post here was end of November. Last couple of posts did seem agitated....but nothing inflammatory.

find.intelius.com/

Doesn't show any hits in texas. Which is odd. I seal records left and right, have an unlisted number and I turn up on their lists quite a bit. Every knifey forum, KFC, Benchmade, and others has him dropping off the face of the earth on Nov 30 Dec 1.

Really odd. I couldn't pull him up on an obit search in Texas but that's not conclusive either. Feels to me like something happened to him...

He doesn't show up yet in social security death indexes (familysearch.com) but that may not be updated yet.

1. Hope nothing bad has happened to him and everyone gets their property back.

2. Hope this doesn't mess up the Pass-Around gig. I have never done it, but always sounded like a great idea and I was hoping to get to it when I knew I would be around.

3. If it turns out that he has become a bad guy then I hope justice is found for him.

Sorry for the number thing. Helps my little mind at times.

Yes, the important thing is that 1) no one is hurt, and 2) we get the stuff back.

Don't worry, this won't stop the passarounds!

Oh, and organizational tricks are a good thing.

Yeah....did some pokin' around myself....nothing. Although, I did notice a few things.

1 - He mentions (on his website) growing up in Early, TX. There are a few Clarks in Early, TX too...including a Michael. Could try calling there.

2 - Has anybody here read his stories and poetry? Also, talks about depression and anger on his site. Anything's possible.

Hopefully everything is alright, and he'll come back and read this thread and laugh his rear-end off.....

in the meantime....:(

but can't get out there as soon as had hoped. I have a brother in law that is going to check out some the addys listed here and get back to me. I also did some searches on publicdata.com and if it makes anyone feel better, he does not show to have a criminal record.

I don't know what is going on with him, but this isn't the first time he's been a little lame on pass-arounds. I think on a Korth balisong passaround he disappeared for about 6 months with the knife before showing up again and passing it along. Sort of sucks, but the knife was not lost. Last I remember he had recently gotten re-married and (I think) had a very stressful job. Hopefully he shows up soon and clears this up.

I have been doing a liitle research.........

He "fell" off the face of the earth probably due to the fact that he has seven knives he knows is not his and folks are dogging him. Pretty typical behavior....

The biggie is that there really is not a true owner in how the Criminal Code defines ownership so filing criminal charges can't happen. Even filing a Small claims could prove futile unless the passaround folks form some kind of Association.

Of course is there any paperwork to submit as evidence????

As it stands now the only recourse is a road trip!!!!

Thank you all for your help, I greatly appreciate all of your efforts. I am sure that sooner or later one of us will be able to find Mykl.

Wolfmann,

I can see how the Spyderco passarounds might be a gray area since they are owned by Spyderco, not the passaround administrators - but doesn’t Matt "own" the custom knife that he made?
