Useless babble about knives and love is not useful.

Sorry if I bother you with this but Mykl has been around for quite sometime and even though he is MIA with your knives, I'm still concerned about his well being......

I, too, have tried in vain to contact him but if I do, I'll post it here first.

Gary and Dawkind,

If Mykl in the hospital, the last thing I want to do is to cause him more problems, but how do we find out? Do we call the hospitals in his area? Ask the police if he was in some sort of an accident?

Silas,

You didn’t waste anyone’s time, it is just that Dave has already combed through all of the stuff that comes up on a google search. There are a couple of Mykl’s websites, a couple of alternate email addresses that bounce back (one mail box full and the other is no longer in service), some out of service phone numbers which may or may not have been Mykl’s at one time.

There were references that Dave was able to use to find Mykl’s relatives number in Early Tx. and his work number at the Kohler plant, but unfortunately we have not been able to get through to Mykl or get him to return any phone calls or emails…the home phone (cell) and Home address (a box n mail store) that Mykl gave for the passarounds are not much help either…

BTW, dose anyone have a new or old home address or phone number for Mykl?

I understand. I know that this is very frustrating for the party involved. Did anyone over at that Balisong website know anything?

You've got mail frank k and DaveH.

I wanted to post this here...

I walked in the house today and found a letter from Dave. Inside was a check "to take the sting out of the incident." I am blown away by Dave's generosity and thoughtfullness. I know Dave did not do this for public accolades, he did it because he is a kind and thoughtful person.

Thank you very much Dave. And thank you for the effort you've been putting in trying to resolve this situation.

Matt

i would be surprised if mykl were really holding out on these knives, it just doesn't seem like him. I don't know him personally but he's been an active and responsible member of these forums for some time. I hope he is well.

I did a trade with Mykl about a year ago this past December. The thread can be found here:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285161&highlight=boye
We traded around Christmas and I was expecting my knife by the new year. Sad to say, I didn't recieve my knife until Febuary. As you'll read, it came in an unmarked, box. I was more than disappointed in the way that he conducted his end of the deal. The knife was alright, although not exactly as described, and I'm no stickler in that category. Personally, I wouldn't ever deal with him again on this basis. I hope that he does come forward and defend his position and that you get your knives back.
Matt

edited to add: Good to see you Wolfman! Still have that Specwar?! :D

I wanted to let everyone know that I received a package today from Mykl containing my hunter and three Spydercos. A note explaining the situation was enclosed.

I'm not sure if posting the explanation is appropriate but it might serve some good. Basically, due to financial problems Mykl's phone line was shut off.

I don't think this is the entire lot of missing knives, but, at least, it's a start.

I emailed Dave asking where the Spydercos should be sent.

great news, Matt.

Perhaps bit off more than he could chew? Having to mail out a handful of knives when you're strapped is not fun....I wish he would have contacted someone, though....some of us could have pitched in to cover shipping costs.

I did this with a passaround I had....and believe it or not, about a year later, I was paid back. You never know.....and it was only $10....

Gee you mean there's another A-Hole out there screwing Good people.Get another Rope,it's Hangin' time

I find it mindboggling how this guy got 7 knives before someone was aware of what was going on.

Why would financial troubles hinder him from talking care of the business he agreed to? The only money involved was in shipping and a quick call or E-mail to Dave would have had that covered, in full!!!!!

Unless he planned on shoving the seven knives into the phone, his phone line [the one that is connected to an answering machine that ANSWERS] issue is irrelevant.

I too have bitten off more than I could chew a time or two in my life. But I always maintained an open line of communication. It's part of being a MAN.

And for those who think what Mikyl did was just "shiit happens" Would you chip in and participate in a passaround of a Loveless if mikyl was number one on the list? Think about it..................................... Oh yeah he still has some more knives that ARE NOT his.....

First, I'm glad that the goodies were returned (if this is all that are/were in his possession. . . .if not. . . .it's time for him to fess up to remaining).

Hmmmmmmmm It's amazing that his phone was turned off. . .yet. . .he was able to conveniently return the knives when the heat was turned up. :(

Ira is right. . . .I think that most, if not all, of us have experienced some sort of financial hardship, but you don't jerk people off or around because of it. Unless you're a jagoff. ;)

Sometimes in this life we get into mess's and it is hard to admit you've made a mistake. Sometimes it gets you down and it is hard to fess up. Being broke is bad and getting your phone shut off might affect your internet presence.
I'm having some hard times right now and I've had to make some adjustments.
It is embarassing sometimes.
Just a thought.

I'm glad the knives are back, or at least most of them.

I can understand running into trouble, it's happened to me. It's happened that I have been delayed getting passarounds back too.

The good thing is that we will be running a much more visible and better "accounting" of where the passarounds are as well as better control and warning systems..

Hey S*** does happen, but I'll tell ya what.I would sacrifice putting food in my mouth to mail back knives that didn't belong to me.That's just the kinda of person I am though.I'm sure,if someone tries hard enough at the very least they can find away to make contact in just about any circumstance. If I have to go to the local library or find a friend to send an e-mail using their computer if mine gets shut off, then that's what I would do.If I have to call someone collect to let them know what problem I'm having, then that's what I would do,not just disappear with the goods imho.
I'm glad you guy's got some of the knives back.Take Care

I agree but you would have the balls to post a note to everone explaining the situation and apologizing for any inconvenience you caused. You'd quit eating for two days to save for shipping.

At least he isn't hurt or worse, glad to hear that!
He got the knives beginning of December, returned half or so 12 days
into January, while not exemplary, it is better than what some others had done and will never show up again.

And unless something is far amiss, the remaining knives should make an appearance soon as well.

It just may have taken this thread to "alert" Mykl of his civic and moral duties, as well as acting as a warning to those that may participate in a passaround, could serve to curb those quick to sign up, which is good for folks to put some thought into it before jumping blindly into an agreement such as the passarounds.

So Mykl, if you can read this, glad to hear you're somewhat ok, barring your financial state, which isn't something we have concern with but can sympathize as we've all been there in one fashion or another, but if you haven't already done so, find the rest of the knives or at the least let the passaround folks that are missing them know what your next response will be, so no one can second guess what you're up to next.

G2

I would like to thank all of the people here who provided their assistance with this situation.

Mykl, I am sorry that you did not return the emails and phone calls, I am sure that this could have been taken care of with a lot less hassle for you and aggravation for all of those who tried to contact you...I hope that you will contact us about the 3 knives form Jhillas’s passaround without further delay….
