Dan I called the Clarks in Early TX, they said they didn't know how to get ahold of him. I may call again.

Yeah....I would. Did you get any "clues" as to what was going on? Did you talk to relatives/parents?

I don't know which family member I talked to, I also asked if anything had happened to him. As far as they knew nothing did, but they said they don't know how to get ahold of him.

I'll try again tonight, it's on a machine during the day.

cool.......catchin' heat from the parents is usually a good motivator.

What a mystery! Someone email him and tell him they have another knife for him in the passaround, but they want to confirm his address. Maybe that'll pull him in! Daniel, any progress on our project?

Cerberus- sounds like Dave has enough business for you to open your own Tough Guy biz down there. sheesh! :)

Chiro - should have it ready next weekend. I want to include a few things with it. Shoot me an email next week and we'll chat.

Thank you all for your help, I greatly appreciate all of your efforts. I am sure that sooner or later one of us will be able to find Mykl.

Wolfmann,

I can see how the Spyderco passarounds might be a gray area since they are owned by Spyderco, not the passaround administrators - but doesn’t Matt "own" the custom knife that he made?

- Frank
Matt either sold or 'gave' the knife for use. Ownership is a key factor in filing theft charges but if ownership can be established we might be able to proceed.......

I don't know that a theft charge is applicable, as he was sent the knives by others to evaluate, then was supposed to forward them on to the next person.
Maybe embezelment is more an appropriate term.
I hope this works out for all involved.

I think the fact that he and his family don't speak to eachother says a lot. Not quite the upstanding family man!

His family could just be covering for him...

Mykl Clark has 7 total passaround knives, a Matt Roberts (LongRifle) custom passaround and the Catcherman/ pacific Salt & Vagabond Spyderco. He's had them for some months...

Dave, just wondered when he received the last one of the Passaround and if it showed as being delivered from the delivery confirmation info for the shipment? Just trying to get a time line when he "dissappeared" from the net.

A conversation with him, of course, would clear this all up, but if he has been hurt or worse, it may be a while before we know anything solid.

So, when was the last passaround delivered?

Edited to add a curious thing, Mykl Clark as not one post in the Passaround Forum? I know it's closing the gate after the horses/knife left, but it would seem that if someone was to be included on a passaround, they would post within that thread? As most of the threads show the guys/gals replying that they got the knife, and that they were sending it along, sort of a loose book keeping method of the passaround, knowing where and when the knives shipped and arrived.

I find that just a bit strange that he hadn't posted anything there? especially if he has, as claimed, 7 of the passaround knives, he must have been quite active in viewing those threads to gather all those up! colour me puzzled

Who did he contact to get involved and who sent him each of the 7(?) knives........do these people have a record of the transaction?

Just curious.............

First, yes, we where lax in bookkeeping. But we should have a better system in place now.

Althought there are 7 knives, it was 3 passarounds, multiple knives are sometimes bundled in one passaround.

The reason these don't show up on BF is because these passarounds originated on KF or where cross forum BF / KF passarounds. I assume John and Matt have his participation emails. I don't have them.

Mykl has disappeared for months at a time before, why I don't know.

My feeling personally is that there is no acceptable excuse for this excepting a) he passed away or b) surprise visit to the hospital and is still there.

I did some more checking and found out that address is a Box-n-go store, like a mailboxes etc. Anyway I called them the person confirmed he has a receiving box there.

This is probably the 3rd or 4th time we've been burned by people who give us a box address.

Didn't mean that anyone was lax, just saying that would be a quick survey for a time frame.

I took a look at the other forum in their passaround section, all three instances are near the beginning of December, meaning that something happened, I find it hard to believe he has been waiting for this opportunity to run off with these knives.

Received these knives 11-22-04 but was told to keep them for a couple weeks, no rush according to the owner on that thread
Passaround

The knives were mailed out on 11-29-04
another Passaround

He received the knife 11-27-04
Custom Passaround

Although I've only emailed with him and have instant messaged with him a while back, I found him to be pretty stand up and while it is frustrating, I'd like to think we could wait before judging him, especially as it is just ending the holiday season and you all know how things can get rushed quickly and time runs out before you know it.

I think also that unless we can speak to his parents, some family members can be worse than strangers to their own.

I didn't read this whole thread so this might be old news but have you Googled "mykl clark". Like 3-4 pages came up, some of which are his posts on a Balisong forum. I dont know if this will help you but if you have'nt run his name on www.google.com or any of the other search engines you should give it a try.

Edit to add: He even has his own website on his Balisong times profile.

Unless the results of several search engines have changed, I've checked out the info from them including google. Unfortunately, other than the Early texas link to hsi family, and he once/may possibly work at a kohler unit, I didn't find anything useful, other then dosconected phone numbers a no reply email addresses.

If someone has specific information about tracking him down let me know.

Useless babble about knives and love is not useful.
