You know what they say, eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.
Never heard that one, I tend to go with the Burgess Merideth Grumpier Old Men approach.
Hacked at a little wood with it.
Now off to fight my property taxes with the city with my knife (in my pocket).
Looks very delicious !!!
I just read up a little on hamantaschen and they can be made with many different types of fillings.
What filling is you Mom using for these ones ?
Still going strong and finding plenty of uses.
Gotta remember that. Been eating breakfast & lunch like a pauper, and dinner like an emperor!
Relaxing after dinner with some English tea and reading a good book. I may watch some Mr. Bean later.
Day 3 went well for the seahorse. Not much use happened today, but you better believe this bad boy was with me for support.
Not much knife work today. I broke down some recycling at home after work. This morning i cut some twine to tie off a couple ladders at work.
Thanks, not only are they tasty, but I get such a nostalgic feeling eating them. They taste just like I remember.
As I was once explaining to someone, storebought ones taste okay, but they're just cookies. Homemade ones are somehow hard and chewy and slightly scorched on the bottom....and sometimes the filling overcooks and leaks out to make a wonderful rubbery edge around the corners...
...I realized by objective standards Mom isn't a good cook, but I just love everything she makes. (first time I was served chicken in a restaurant, I called the waiter over to complain. "This chicken is moist inside, are you trying to kill me with this raw poultry?!? Now take it back and desiccate it properly!"
Oh, to answer your question: they are cherry, and I think prune. (but could be blueberry, it's hard to tell)
Found some edge rolling from the zip tie yesterday, then made some properly shiny spots against a plate at supper. That’s why I like to use certain knives for certain things.
The Douk Douk and the cat always call to me. Simple knives but in such an appealing way.
I'm getting there.
It's hard coming from "Eat every meal like you want to brag about it later".
Y’all are cracking me up.
Took the little Nifebrite #14 with me for a little trail walk today. (I’m not sure it qualifies as a “hike,” just a couple trails around a local lake.)
(More photos in the totin’ thread.)
Looks like some BBQ sauce is about to happen! Cool shot, Don!
She's really getting good at those, Vince!
Another delicious shot, Harvey!
This one is proving to be quite handy!
Thanks, Dennis. She loves to bake. I don't complain!
@Prester John ...you will never get past Mr Bean putting his bathers/swimming trunks/cossies on ...without taking off his trousers....amazing slapstick comedy.
Couldn't stop laughing!
