N.E.C.K.A. Hammer-In Schedule

Hey Mike! yeah squared off is Ok....i say got for it! another member also is working on one that is kinda squared off...should make a great cutter!
do it up bro! :)

Mike, Keep in mind that if you want to use it in an ABS contest it needs to be a forged blade........also you might want a point for some of the things they(ABS) do.
Just my 2 cents
Mace

Just want to make sure everyone is clear on this point. If attending the HI for the second time, you must become a member and all members attending must be current with thier dues at the start on the HI. ;)

please keep in mind we (Necka) are not the ABS
we are for the stock grinder as well as the forger and beginner,,
we just use some of the ABS guide lines to get our apples to look a little more like oranges
this is for fun and I'd like to see it stay that way..safety is more my concern..

Dan K had a blunt nose chopper last year and it worked well go for it.
just be close to the spec's..and be sure to have a lanyard on it. I'm not making a sheath for mine
but I will leave it on the table if you guys would like or in my case until it needs to be used..
or if you feel fit to you can disqualify me .. :D

The cans would probably be much happier if it never came out of the case. :D

Hey Dan, I just mentiond that because Mike had said something about ABS rules. I have seen a few knives in ABS comps that had no point and did well. That one Dan K had last year was a hell of a cutter!
I think my favorite part of any cuttin comp. is seeing ALL the knives! :D And what people come up with....it's all part of the fun.

I think we'll have to see how many cans that knife of yours can cut this time Dan......before we disqualify you :p

Can't wait
Mace

Mace input is good :)

I mentioned that because I got some mail about it wondering if it had to be forged because of the post so I just added to clear it up..

as you mentioned if anyone wants to use their blade in both the necka and ABS comp's then you will have to comply with the ABS rules other wise
you're good to go the way we were the last two times....

Cans beware, the gray knife will be there ;)

looks like we are going to have a good turn out for the cutting comp i can't wait :D .i have mine almost done just hope i can finish it before i go on vacation :(

David, where are you vacationing? My wife and I are going to the Cayman Islands, this coming Saturday :D and will be coming home the next Saturday :grumpy: . I've got a knife to enter into the cutting  , we'll see how it does.

I've never tried to cut through a 2x4 before so I just went in my garage and grabbed an old junk bowie a friend gave me about 3 years ago before I started making knives, I think its made by frost cuttlery{mass produced}. But anyway I just wanted to get the feel of chopping 2x4 so I sharpened it up and went at it. There was nothing fun about it, I felt like I was back at work. I hope the knife I'm making for the comp works better than this thing or its gonna be a long day.

larry, i'll be in jamaica from this sat to next  . i got the guard on my cutter last night i'll try and fit the handle tonight.

David, while we're basking in the Caribbean, drinking Bahama Mama's :D , all the rest of the Hammer In participants/guests, will have to suffer the New England and Canadian weather  . Unfortunately, the vacation has to end, but on the brighter side, we'll be at IG's with our cutters on April 30th :D , and with all our fine cutlery appreciating friends.
