Nano oil, fool me once...

I'm sure he probably read your threads and knows that whatever he does will be posted for public scrutiny. I worry more about a man's intentions than his English. I'm sure he knows how to speak at least decently in 2 languages while I speak decently in 1. I won't hold that against him, nor will I hold his website design against him, however hard it is to look at. I've seen my wife design websites that are super simple and she is sometimes able to charge some fairly stupid prices for it. So if he did it on his own or hired the lowest bidder, I won't fault him.

What I will fault him with is him turning a blind eye towards one of his customers when they had a legitimate complaint. And when the customer got serious and left some negative public feedback he got all smart assed and acted like a prick. Then when he obviously read this forum post and how many people were quickly and publicly turning against him and his product, only then he acted to root out the problem and fix the issue with some sort of feigned sincerity.

Is that what it takes to get a problem fixed? If so, I stand by my original assessment and will decline to do business with him.

Maybe he needs to fully refund the OP the purchase price of the product along with any shipping costs and send a small tube of clean oil to him on the house as a nice token and ask him to try to do a fair evaluation and post THAT publicly, without any cost to the OP. That might soothe some of this crap over.

Yes. An insignificant and crappy LED pen is not any measure of making it right with the customer!

In the case of my unrelated but issues-filled purchase from a third-party vendor through Amazon the vendor gave me a 17% discount on the exact product I wanted and that was a $289 purchase which cost me only $240. That's going beyond a token and making it right!

Well he is after all sending me a "10X LED Pocket Magnifier with excellent glass lens" as a gift this time.....and it looks like he has a user account here with us....Nano-Oil.com

I'm glad he took responsibility. Although I still feel like he should have sent you extra product if he really wanted to mitigate damage.
Also in his defense. I'm pretty sure by manufacturer he meant oiler manufacturer. Weaponshield uses the exact same pens. And I think breakfree CLP does as well. It would take a very large company to make their own bottles in house

Isn't HE the manufacturer? This whole thing stinks. Although my nano oil looks fine, now I'm questioning it on a, uh, nano scale.

His email is painful to read. His grammar is off, and my BS meter is going off too.

I think when he says manufacturer he means the company that makes the bottles and tips. He just mixes the stuff, bottles it and slaps a label on it. But he assembles more than he creates.

I have read the whole thread and i cant help but think of the tiny metal particles in the oil pan when you change the oil in your old beater car. Makes me wanna sell old motor oil for 10 bucks a drop.

UPDATE.....

I just checked the mail and received my third tube of Nano oil! Can any one guess what I found?
Im really at the point where I don't care anymore... I'm almost reluctant to continue to post, or take pictures either, but I will one last time. Pictures coming soon.....no more chunks this time just what looks like aluminum glitter.......

THIRD TUBE: I was going to start a new thread called "Nano tired" but figured everyone was just as tired with this topic as I am....
so anyway I was wrong, there are some chunks in the tube, not just dust like I initially thought while opening mail. This time he sent me a magnifying glass and it really helped in getting pictures this time. So any suggestions as to where to go from here?

This was the last email Mr StClaire sent right after I sent him a picture of the second tube and before he shipped this third one out to me...

"Hello Brando,

Unbelievable ! anyhow, we went through the batch in question & virtually tap them on hard surface to force any potential aluminium to dislodge & found only 2 out of 113 from that batch that were fitted with the new needles,
Of course it had to happen to the same client back to back,
So another one if leaving today, this time the 10x LED magnifier will be included to say sorry for these mishaps.
Take care,"

Maybe during transit the oil is lubing and dislodging the particles in the drilled hole that were not coming out despite the tapping and tumbling?
Ive emailed StClaire with this hypothesis...

He gave me a refund the other day, I just wasn't aware of it until today when he told me. I really think he is trying to fix this, I don't think I'm the only one with this problem....I wish him the best.

FROM StClaire.....

"Hello Brando,

I took a sample batch of a 100 needle assemblies from one shipment and inspect under magnification,
I fund 11 that looks like the picture I attached,
it looks like a cross thread during machining, I will address this issue with the manufacturer first thing on Monday,
I used my nail to see how firm those thin aluminium half treads were to find out that they are very brittle,
so when inserted on the tube some must have broken up, then remain in suspension for a while until they revealed themselves in the ugly that we know now, "

The guy should give you a 5 year supply of oil for forcing him to inspect his own product and finding the cause of the fault. Without you making a stink about it he would've continued on the same path for who knows how long while his and his product's reputation went down the toilet.

Maybe the SOB should've listened to you the first time you told him there was a freaking problem.

Glad he got to the root of the issue, I bet those snarky comments he originally sent taste like crow...

Thanks guys, I'm swapping emails with him all day today trying to help, but with the language gap, I think its futile...:(

The whole nano oil thing reminds me of a time in the long long ago when I used to get paid to go to gaming websites and try to hype up really bad games ( KISS: Psycho Circus, Daiktana, and Superman 64 come to mind, but there were more).
Overhype about an overpriced product. My favorite pivot lube is zippo fluid (naptha) or wd40 as it cleans and lubes, it needs reaplied often (3 weeks or so) but at that price who cares.
The fact that this snake oil salesman was giving you sh!t AND delivered not one, not two, but THREE bottles of contaminated bullshit makes me glad I support WD40.

I generally just use whatever I am currently using on my handguns. Seems good enough to me. Russ
