Native5 Forum 2015 no chatter? What's up?

Received my first forum knife/ Native yesterday, gotta say it does not disappoint, the action & ergos are nice, even for my big hand. :) So I ordered another one for my wife, thanks Spyderco.

This is a nice little knife and with the forum coupon and free shipping only $95.97 each!

Mine should arrive tomorrow. S90V Native, just FOR $15 more than regular production makes this knife a great value. In addition this is the Forum knife and US made Spyderco Native.
Somebody commented a "little knife". This little knife can handle everything what I need.

Looking forward to mine today, too. As you say, Roman, this is a great value. Scratch that, it's a steal. S90V doesn't give up much to S110V, so getting S90V (which Spyderco has years of experience with) at this price is terrific.

I got mine today.
I started to feel sorry for people, who passed even more.
Even ignoring emotional value of forum knife, this is a very good EDC knife.

Just picked one up. Been wanting a lightweight since it came out. I couldn't pass this one up.

Free shipping????😳
With orders of $150+.
I ended up placing 2 separate orders on separate days - first one got free shipping, the second $13 shipping.

I thought this was strange and tried it again thinking maybe it was tied to something like a promotional period, the discount code, the total value, etc. But nothing I tried - discount code, no discount code, multiple knives - would remove the $13 shipping.

When they arrived, they were in separate boxes, one with a catalog, one without. (was that it?)

After reading these posts, I went back and tried it again, and got free shipping without the discount code but $13 shipping with forum code.

I'm somewhat considering ordering a 3rd one, I doubt I'll do it thankfully, but its a deal for a using knife

I received my two Native5 Forum 2015 folders. Both look perfect. Can't beat the price of $95.97 each for a sharp and centered S90V steel blade. Weighs just 2.44 ounces.

I've got a question for those of you who have owned other Natives. I got my 2015 Forum Native about a week ago, and I may be in love. The ergos are fantastic in the hand, and its such a fantastic steel at a great price.

My question, however, concerns the lock mechanism. I know Spyderco reworked the lock on the Native 5, but on mine the lock disengagement is extremely unforgiving (requiring two hands and concentration on pushing the lock far enough into the handle). On my other backlock Spydies (Chaparral, Endura, Salt I), the lock disengage quite easily, without much concentration. I'm not sure if its a stiffer lock spring or larger engagement surface (requiring you to push the lock farther into the handle to disengage), but its definitely a two handed operation with this knife, whereas the others can easily be closed with one hand. Is this just my perception, or is this common to all Native 5's?

I have several Natives including a new LW and 2 Forum 2015. The new ones do seem a little stiff at first but loosen up after a while. But never have they been a two-handed operation.

If it doesn't loosen up soon, send it in to Spyderco to be checked.

On mine it seems like I have to depress the lock bar fairly far to disengage, but I wouldn't describe it as stiff and I don't have any issue with one-handed operation.

Just got mine. I am a big fan of lock backs and this one has the tightest tolerances of any I have ever owned. Awesome knife. The new LW design is a total winner IMO!!

I like the knife a lot, but I love my Native5 (not LW). I love liners and would take G10 over FRN on any day. Of cause 2013 forum Native is the best production knife ever made in my book.

The Native5 LW Forum 2015 S90V/FRN is a lot of folder for the money at about $96 each. Although, I'm not a big fan of linerless FRN folders you can't deny the price and the 2.44 ounces weight. Of course, last year we had my favorite Native5 S110V/CF which weighed 3.51 ounces but went for about twice as much!
