So you think the logo is what weakens the camillus? interesting...

They break at the stamping sometimes, usually operator error. I've seen it happen just once, heard of it a few times. They chop nicely, they bite deep.

Hey FAL'ER I just noticed your location. Pretty funny. And I assume thats FNFAL Right arm of the free world.

I like the factory sheath for the bk4. I don't think I've seen anyone with any aftermarket kydex or leather for the 4 yet.

Hey Bushcrafter.....

I know of no phony CamCo Beckers...... Possibly a light strike on the stamp or a bit more coating than spec????..... Who knows...... Both the Cam and KaBars work extremely well......

As far as the stamp weakening the blade?...... I have seen it happen.... Johnny1280 hit a bit flat during a cutting contest at Becker West a couple of years ago and...TING.... kaflooey..... Is this a pervasive problem? it is not.... Many thousands sold and just a couple of "tings"....... Is it a concern to me?... Yes, every blade that has my name on it that fails is----a failure and I really, really do not like it......

It is true, I think, that you are on your own as far as Cammillus' warranty is concerned...... I am pretty much out of stock and can't help and Cammillus has none I am pretty certain........

I have a bunch of logo stamped knives from a raft of different makers and not particularly concerned about the stamp as a potential failure point...... It really is a rare occurrence ......

Hope this sheds a wee bit of clarity to your questions.......

Oh....BTW.... that is a Brute sheath which, leads to speculation that it may have come out of the last days and may, just may be a "second"..... Or, a "parts" situation...... BUT, who knows???....e

I didn't know the Kabar Beckers were made of Chrome Vanadium? All companies are going to have some lemons, no matter who they are or how much the knife costs. Even after reading this post about a broken bk9, I still choose to support Kabar/Becker, well, just because the group itself is cool, with some great members, that have a lot of the idealogy that I do. So I think the OPs question is answered. No, there are no known fake Camillus 9s out there!

bushcrafter, it's difficult to play along with your enthusiasm when all you're looking for pats on the back and folks declaring your choice of knife to be the best, as soon as folks shared some words of caution you started getting up in arms defending your choice when it didn't really need defending.

The Cam 9 is a good choice, I personally think the Ka-Bar 9 is a better choice, and I think the BK20/29 would be better than both of those choices. We all know you'll buy what you want to buy and thus this thread is just you trying to garner some 'good choice' and 'well done, son' remarks, which doesn't really go over well with some folks.
