need opinions: Camillus BK9 fake?

If you are unwilling to listen, there is no purpose to further conversation.

Look bozo. I'll draw it in crayons for you. I was about to spend $ on a rare knife. I thought the stamped logo looked odd. I went online and asked the pros if I should be weary of fakes. Mr Becker himself chimed in answering all my questions. I went ahead and bought the knife. Now that it's arrived I find myself puzzled. I thought cam 9 was full tang, and weighted more than 1lb.

There is no evidence online that I can find that spells out that the tang is solid, yet there is at least one review of the Ka-Bar BK9 on these forums (LINK HERE) that says the tang on the Cam9 was hollow.

Also this 'collectors-of-Camillus' website says the total weight is 18.25oz with handle scales, while yours without scales weighs 14.5oz.

Again, no solid evidence it's a fake, and your inability to explain why you think it is made this thread fall apart. Your lack of communication caused problems, I was only asking for clarification when you decided I was picking on you.

I think the issue that you're running into here is that you are expecting people to read your mind somewhat. There are tons of GREAT people in here but if you come in with attitude...you will find that you won't fit in easily. People here are more than happy to help and some do get a bit opinionated at times. However, when you start spouting names and making yourself look bad, you will probably have a short time here.

I would prefer for that NOT to happen but that will be entirely up to you and your behavior. As I said, people are willing to help but they are not mind readers. When you just post pictures and say it's a fake, you aren't giving them much to go on. You think it's a fake because it's not full tang? That knife is a full tang. The Ka-bar BK9's have the same cutout as that one. I don't know if all of the Camillus knives had the tang cutouts or not. If you will be patient and less insulting, you may find that some of the people who do or have owned one of those knives will chime in to let you know. But....if you continue to insult people, they won't bother to reply or try to help you.

As far as the weight is concerned, I'm not certain on that one. Have you measured the thickness of the spine? I believe the Camillus ones were somewhere between 3/16 and 1/4 inch. The Ka-bar ones are 3/16. Hopefully Mr. Becker or one of the others can address the weight issue as well.

I'm not trying to bust your chops. I'm just saying that there is a way to ask and a way to interact. People here are friendly and willing to help, as long as you are respectful and not rude.
Would you go out of your way to help someone that went out of their way to be rude to you? I doubt you would and that's understandable. I hope that you've just managed to get off on the wrong foot here and that you can address that and get back on track. If you can, you'll see what a great bunch of people there are here. If not, I suspect that you will have a very short time here in the Becker forum because the Mods, while laid back, won't deal with attitude and rudeness on and on. Good luck and I hope you find the answers that you need. :)

He just erased all his posts in the thread, don't see how that helps anything.

I quoted most of his recent ones, though.

pretty poor behavior. mods can read all the old content and restore it anway.
