Hey fellas - I'm man enough to say that I shed a tear reading all the support you guys are sending our way. I'll be sure to let my wife know of all the people thinking of us.
I came home for a bit to try and catch a bit of sleep and take care of the pooch. Family will be taking care of her from here on out.
The swelling has subsided a bit but the right side of his face is still really read and a little puffy. It's hard and still a little hot. A plastic surgeon is going to come visit him and see if they are able to drain and culture to see what this bug really is. We are lucky in that we have a good pediatric hospital fairly close to us so they only service children which is nice.
All the blood tests came back ok - nothing too far out of the ordinary.
Since they aren't 100% sure if it is MRSA he is in isolation so we can't leave the room with him at all. That part sucks. He slept probably about a total of 2 hours last night night broken up into 30 minute stretches and has watched more TV in the past 12 hours than he has in his entire first 11 months of his life.
I'll tell you guys what though - kids are troopers. He just wants to play and doesn't have a care in the world right now, which is reassuring.
His IV got clogged this morning and they had to place another one in, while I was gone of course so my wife got to experience that one on her own.
Doc says we are going to be there at least another 24 hours so they can continue to monitor him so I'll be hanging out with the family in our tiny room

I've got to take a picture of the crib they have in the room, it's a freakin' metal cage. It looks earily similar to the crate my dog sleeps in....
Being a pediatric hospital it helps to put things in perspective. There are lot of sicker kids there and we are lucky and blessed that the treatment seems to be working and he seems to be getting better.
I'll talk to ya'll soon
