Use it for cutting papers, strings and boxes.

Started carrying after I reach the age of 30. :)

Size: Currently EDC a 3" to 3-3/4" folder (or two)

Uses: Food prep, yard/garage/shop general cutting chores, opening mail/packages, cutting up boxes

Age: Probably 8-9 or so. My Grandfather's old Barlow, which I still have.

Good luck Mr. Glesser, hope this helps.

1. I carry a Buck 110, Calypso Jr., and a Leatherman. So 3"-4"
2. cutting fruit, other foods, boxes, envelopes, string, etc.
3. I've been carrying a pocketknife since I was 10 years old-currently 46

Sorry to hear about the lawsuit Sal. :(
My EDC's generally tend to be about 3 1/2" to 4".
Uses, opening packages ( sealed plastic bags, and cardboard boxes) breaking down cardboard, cutting rope, cutting plastic strapping, and all of the daily home cutting chores.
I started to carry knives daily when I was around 8 to 10 yrs old. that was about 40+ yrs ago though. Times seemed different then.

My daily carry will have a blade length from 3" - 4".

My knife needs are basic: opening boxes, yard work etc. Nothing too exciting. Just standard tool usage.

I started carrying a pocket knife when I was about 10.

I started carrying a knife when I was about 8, at home.
My sophmore year of highschool I started carrying a SAK everyday. I have carried a knife almost everyday since then.
I carry anywhere from a 4" blade to a 1 1/2" blade. Usually around 3".
I use it for opening boxes and other packages. I use it for scraping crusty dirt of of machines at work. I use it for digging out slivers. I use it for cutting zip ties. I use it cutting cigars. I use it for preparing food. And many other mundane tasks each day.

Usual Carry: 3" blade. Sometimes a 2"-2 1/2" blade

Use: Opening packages, cutting string, and such.

First Knife: When I was about 8 years old. A Scout Knife.

1. A 3 inch folder is my most common EDC.

2. Uses: probably just about everything everybody else on this thread has mentioned so far. All sorts of myriad uses. Cardbord boxes, plastic wrap on packages, tape, string, rope, digging out prickly weeds from my lawn, whittling while walking the dog, etc., etc.,...

3. Started carrying at age 28, with a 2" lockback.

First started EDC @age12...I use a pocket clip knife

I cut boxes, paper, tape, labels.

My EDC knives...Police carbon fiber, Benchmade710, WEGNER

1. 3-4 inch blades.
2. Opening boxes, cutting food packaging or fruit, trimming material as needed, scraping on occasion, self defense a remote possibility.
3. 8 years old or so. Uncle Henry Stockman. Back when they would guarentee them even against loss. I guess they hated to see a person without a pocket knife.

1. 3-4 inches
2. Anything it's needed for (opening packages, cutting rope, etc.)
3. Started carrying around age 11.

1. 4.2 inch Balisong (BM 47)

2. General utility purposes: Opening envelopes, cutting strings/boxes, opening packages (whether it be food or otherwise)

Entertainment: Balisongs really pass help pass the time, and the click of the knife is rather soothing.

3. 16 years of age, purchased for me by my older brother.

1 A 31/2 to 4 inch blade
2 boxes ,envalopes, Tape ,wire, triming epoxy and my finger nails.
3 6 or 7 years old, 30 years ago. :D

1. Size does not matter. 2-3" is fine for me. At times (10% of the time perhaps) I get a bit silly and carry my 7.5" tanto for self defense.
2. Mostly for cutting an apple, cutting rope, trimming arrow fletches or digging an arrow out of a tree.
3. 5 years old.

Hope this helps,

Greg

1. On average 3.5-4"

2. Utility (opening boxes, cut rope, open ice-pop wrappers for kids. Idunno a million things)

Defense- A last ditch back up tool for work and off duty.

Active military (when I was in) Opening MRE's, Ammo can wires, Paracord cutting. Better cutting tool than dull M7 or Ka-Bar they issued.

3. Given my first knife on my 9th birthday for boy scouts. Been carring one on a regular basis since 15 or so. Even in school wich was not a concern to anyone then. My shop teacher put a wicked edge on one of them. My first "out of my normal price range folder" was a Spyderco Merlin in "93" . Man that was a leap back in the day. :D I'm 35 now.
