Need your help

sal, i wanna hear about it. i am oblivious as to what all happened... gotta link where i can read about it or something? thanks...

oh yea, send me a manix to perform a torture test on. the man i work for is a benchmade dealer and he is saying that his Benchmade Presidio can out last any spyderco torture test.. the manix was the closest thing to it so i had to mention that... and i cant just buy one to test out... i am not that well off. haha. we are having this test that is actually very thorough behind our shop in johnson city, tn after we close early on a saturday. we already have about 50 people that have said they are coming... i have hopes that the spyderco will out last the Benchmade, but my boss swears by em so i am out to disprove him!

Old thread, sorry. I remember that case. Bottom line: if you're going to be walking drunk in Boston, do so at your own peril.

1. What size (blade length) knife do you normally carry?
I carry several knives ranging from 2" (Spyderco SWICK) to 6" (Cold Steel 6" Ti-Lite)

2. What do you use your knife for?
Anything and everything.

3. At what age did you begin carrying a knife?
I began carrying at age 13. I don't think I've ever been without a knife since then.

HAHAHAH!

Yeah, lets all line up and demand some free knives:jerkit:

dont want a free knife rat. i wanna prove that a spyderco MBC rated blade is tougher than the BM line of black class blades. but yea whatever... keep on jackin'

1. 2-3.5"
2. Opening/breaking down boxes, opening mail, cutting cable ties.
3. Had a knife since 13, didn't start carrying one regularly since I was about 24(never really needed one til then)

Gotta love when old threads get ressurrected.

i just saw it and thought it was interesint so i posted in it... i think i was the one that accidentally brought it back up.

So use your knife instead of telling Sal to send you one.

Are you saying you arranged for some kind of spectator sport knife test, without having the knife you wanted to test, and just assumed you could tell Sal to give you a free one?

That is just plain dumb.

I ususally carry a 3-4 inch knife, I use it for everything; from opening packages to cleaning my nails , scraping gaskets, picking my teeth, prying things (yes I know),opening cans, cutting anything that needs to be cut and when camping it is my cook tool. I have been carring a knife since I was 8 years old.

*&^*%%$ didn't realize this was undead thread. Oh well no wonder it seemed familar.

Hey if Sal is sending out blades to "test" i'll take a couple enduras. I swear we will do a test with them. :jerkit:

1. 3.5"-4"
2. general daily things around the office or in the field, at home or out and about, anything you'd use a knife for really
3. 17

1. A Syderco Delica, 3" blade.

2. Box opening, lunch making, Pencil sharpening, cutting tape, and occaissonal first aide.

3. When I was 8 or 9 years old.

I hope you are not fighting blade length restrictions. :grumpy:

Hi USAFSP,

The knife was a Military. That's how I ended up involved. Had to work with the legal dept and expert witnesses.

sal

size, usually 3 - 4", varies between tactical and slip joints
use, virtually everything from makeshift screwdriver to food prep, opening packages etc.
age, 8 or 9 years old. it's funny how times have changed i carried a knife of some type or another pretty much all the way through school, if i did that now i'd be shot and put in jail, in that order.
hope the trial works out okay, don't know anything about it but it sounds like a bs suit. later, ahgar

Yes indeed!

My EDC knives:

1. 3.5"-4" Spyderco Military. Looking for another folder that size.
2.6" Emerson Combat Karambit

2. Large folder for utility, cutting boxes, cutting rope, general house work, and opening envelopes:D. Self defense. I think food-prep with a pocket knife is weird.

Karambit for self defense.

3. 20 years old. Only a couple months ago!

Jimmy, why did you dig up this old bugger?

1. I'm nearing senility.
2. I'm late, as usual.
3. I missed my meds.
4. I'm late, as usual.
5. And did I mention I'm almost senile?
6. And, finally, I'm late... as usual.

That's all I can think of for now.;)

Sorry about bringing old threads back to life. I've done it before and probably will again when I next lose touch with reality.

Have I taken my meds today, dammit? I've forgotten.

Old Jimmy:foot:

1. 3,5-3,75" folder
2. common things - utility purposes
3. about 16 I guess

edit:

ooops its a bit old thread...:(

1. Sub-3" bladed folder

2. Daily utility (everything from opening letters and boxes to cutting fishing line in the afternoons and weekends)

3. Age 11

Professor.

Here it is.
I usually carry a pocket clip lockback of some sort at a maximum length of 3 and 7/8th inches. The length is determined by what is an acceptable legal length.
I do not see a necessity for anything longer.
I use it for a variety of utility purposes such as box, fruit, string, cutting.
I think I started carrying some sort of pocket knife at around 14 years old.
That'll be 46 years, and counting.
Good Luck
