Nepalese earthquake relief fundraiser. Every little bit helps.

Put in what little I could. I am glad to hear they are alive, as another had stated, survival on a long term basis is next. The work of one person my not seem like much, however, the work of many individuals can make all the difference.

Positive thoughts,

Brogan

No such thing as "little". It is the heartfelt feelings and thoughts behind the generosity that counts...:)

This is just a suggestion, but if anyone decides to buy from HI and include extra as a donation, it might be better to separate the donation from the payment on Paypal so Auntie doesn't lose as much to the Paypal fee. I don't know exactly how it works with Paypal, but it could also be helpful for tax purposes.

Excellent point, and an idea worth putting into practical use.

Just checked, Paypal charges a percentage of each transaction plus 30¢ give or take a little depending on the seller. So if we're donating money, we really should do it separate from the payment as a gift instead of "payment for goods or services". And in truth when we do that we are giving a gift or making a donation. Any money we send beyond what Auntie charges us for the incredible products cannot be considered payment, but instead a gift.

I made a modest contribution. While we are all glad to hear that Yangdu's family and the kamis are not injured, I think we should remember that over 2,000 of our fellow beings who were alive two days ago are now no more. As John Donne put it “Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.” As a positive, I like to think that these contributions will help the overall economy of Nepal by spreading through it.

never really have we had a more worthy cause -- before we were giving money to help out a little, now our donations will actually help keep HI alive and its people; there has never been a more important time to give a little extra to auntie and donate to whomever you can in nepal that is helping with clean up and supplies.

Definitely a worthy cause and definitely going to donate. My prayers go out to everyone affected.

I have no $$$ right now, but I'm willing to send back my Agni Jowla firebreather for resale and have Auntie give all profits towards the fund.

Yangdu, we are so sorry to hear about this disaster. We are working on a box or two of old favorites to send back to you to help keep things running.

Pemba, Kanchhi and Pemba's sister's village farm house collaps and now Pemba's sisters and her family are staying at the shelter with rest of the villagers who lost thier home.
Shop manager Rajesh Baral got leg injured and he is in stable conditon.
We still have not heard any thing from father's ranch house Solukhumbu area and still waiting to hear from there

Hello,

I have up for auction a XXXXXXXX. It was modified by the previous owner who sharpened the false edge, thinned the handle, rounded the guard, and added a choil. As well there is a small cut in the sheath.

What I am proposing is an auction that will start on Saturday morning at 00:01am and end on Sunday evening at 11:59pm. Minimum starting bid will be $100.00 with $5.00 minimum increments. All proceeds will be paid directly to HI. Once I am contacted by Yangdu that she has recieved payment then i will ship the knife directly to the winner. If the winner is not in the US or Canada then they may need to add shipping.

The only catch is I will need assistance posting the pics.

Thank you,
Kevin

I can host the pics for ya no problem but Im pretty sure you cant sell on this subforum. To sell anything you have to be a paid member and post on the knife exchange under production fixed blades. PM me after this gets moved to the proper place and ill be happy to host the pics for you. Thank you sir for your kind offer to help our brothers and sisters of Nepal:thumbup:

Does it count as selling if I never take payment? It goes to HI who's forum this is.

It seems like a good idea to me.

Thanks,
Kevin
