New 2015 ZT lineup

I thought the 550 came out a few months after the 551 - I got my 0551 the first week of November 2010.

They may not have hit the market at the same time but I believe when they were announced, they were announced together.

Gonna get a 0450 for sure. Just wish there was a CF version. I bought my 0454 solely for investment purpose and to have Limited ZT for a while. I wasn't stoked about it when I ordered it. I thought there would be no way that it could surpass my 0562cf as my favorite. The 0454 impresses me more every time I carry it and it is by far my favorite. The ergos are incredible. Only knock is the blade length and when I want a more manageable blade I carry a Benchmade 940-1. The 0450 could very well knock the 940-1 out of the rotation.
Sinkevich is awesome. Light knives with great ergos that aren't pocket hogs.

Must...stop...drooling!

Seriously, the 0450 is now calling my name. Talk about extremely pocket friendly.

And the 0808's blade just screams "worker" to me.

Well, the 0452 and 630 are calling my name based on the spec's; full sized folders FTW!;):D

Saw the videos. Yup I want an 0450. And I'll be getting some nice hardware and a Cf scale for it. No doubt.

That 0452CF is calling my name too. Are they for sale at Shot Show? I have some friends there on gun business and they said the ZT booth was packed. I will ask my friend to get one for me tomorrow if they are available. I am thinking about canceling my wayyyyyy over due 0562CF preorder from KC after seeing this.

ZT has a nasty habit of failing to meet demand on their existing models before they introduce new ones. Then to add insult to injury, they wait a ridiculous amount of time before they bring their new introductions to market. That's a reprehensible business practice as far as I'm concerned, but ZT is able to get away with it because they make great products and their customers are willing to put up with it.

I put in one preorder for a ZT knife . . . my 0770CF . . . . because I had no idea if they'd ever produce another knife I'd be willing to carry and I wasn't sure if they'd make enough to go around. But I'm not going to do that again. If ZT doesn't make enough of the models I'm interested in for the dealers I do business with to stock them, I'll buy somebody else's product. As much as I like ZT knives . . . and I DO like ZT knives . . . they're not the only game in town.

^^^I couldn't have said it better myself. Whenever ZT comes out with a new model that I'm interested in, by the time it becomes readily available I've either lost interest or some other manufacturer has provided me with an acceptable alternative and then I've moved on. I really wanted an 0562CF but then I got both a 940-1 and an SG Bad Monkey. No longer interested in the 0562 CF. I see the same thing happening with the 0452CF. I am very much attracted to it, but by the 3rd quarter of 2015, I will have found and purchased something to "replace" it before it is ever released. No problem though, I'm happy and there will be someone who will purchase that knife that was earmarked for me.

Meh. It gives me a chance to think about it instead of just impulse buying the latest and greatest when they first come out.

I DO think that I am done with pre-orders though.

Hopefully using s35vn changes this.....

Was able to play with them all today, the only one that I will probably buy is the 0452CF, and honestly I'd be more interested in it if it was a bit smaller overall. It still fits well in medium sized hands, but it could easily be a 1/2" shorter in the handle and STILL fit a large hand very easily. They were all nice, but I didn't like the balance or handle on the 808, for it's size the handle and blade are quite thick. The handle is small and the back of the handle ends up being uncomfortable in the grip. The 0450 was really nice, it's handle while also short fits very well in the hand, just not my size I prefer around 3.5" blades, and if I have to carry something smaller it usually has to be sub 3". Flipping action was good on all the ones I messed with. The 0900 was nice, but not my thing, it's handle was too tall/short to be comfy for me, but if you want super beefy and under 3" it's nice. The 0630 is very similar in feel to the 0620.

One trait they all had I didn't like is very smooth handles with no tactile grip. The 0452 holds your hand pretty well but I wouldn't want to use any of the others with wet or sweaty hands. Didn't look at the pens, and I'll keep my comments to myself about anyone that spends $100-$200+ for a simple pen body machined out of AL/Ti, I'd love to sell something with that profit margin though.

I understand your sentiment but my question is this....why S35VN? It may be readily available, but by the time these new models hit the market (past experience says late 2015) many manufacturer's new models with better steel choices will relegate S35VN to a steel choice that is not really competitive in the new knife market. For example, look at Benchmade, how many models do they have coming out with M390? Did ZT look at CRK and say "well, if it's good enough for Chris Reeve, then it's good enough for us"? Heck, for that matter, Kershaw has introduced a couple of models with Elmax now, and I'm curious as to why KAI decided to shift a superior steel over to a lower class of knives???

Everyone wanted to hate on Elmax when it was being used and now everyone misses it...

In my opinion, S35VN and Elmax are both marginal upgrades over S30V.
