As far as I've seen there have only been 2 or 3 firsts between here and FB. A handful of seconds. I think those were kind of flukes because the team is supposed to be off for the month. Come on July!!!!!
 
The 4.7 I have is a factory first.. I got it off a guy that ordered 2 and said he just didn't need 2 and knew I wanted one very badly.. He sold it to me for cost... That's one hell of a good dude in my book!

This poor thread hasn't gotten any love recently! Just going to post a quick thought or two.

I have one of the CruForge V 4.7s. The more I use it the more I love it. The size makes it a good all around user.

I like it so much I wonder if anyone would be interested in trading my Factory First CPM 3v GSO 5.1 for a Factory First CPM 3v 4.7? Straight trade since my 5.1 is a user.

Just wondering out loud. Not sure if this should be posted here or in the Sale threads?

Half way through July now, have there been any other reported sightings or deliveries of 1sts ?

Are we really hoping for seconds? I'd kind of like Guy to sell all his inventory as firsts.

What do you mean? I ain't hopin' for no seconds!

What you quoted me on was my response to what I actually saw get shipped last month. And what I saw was 2 or 3 preorder firsts and a handful of seconds from a Monday sale.

I have no doubt that Guy and Ellie are constantly working hard, but clearly their focus has been on something else as its almost the middle of July and still nothing.
 
How does his order number look with any others? Is it close? I thought everything seemed quiet . I thought I remembered that July had been the month for 4.7 to really get rolling...

My order number is less than 40 away from Forte's and I haven't heard anything yet. I don't doubt Ellie and Guy are super busy like always, I just thought at this point they'd be super busy sending out 4.7's.

Guy made an instagram post showing a table full of (I think) 3v factory firsts ready to ship in June which was supposed to be a relaxed month for them. I thought for sure we'd be seeing more shipments by now.

Dang forte, kinda wished I'd went for the camo g10 now if I could have got it textured!! (I'm such a flip flopper on the scales. Anything textured is my new favorite ha!)

My preorder on the 4.7 is after Silver's. I'll start getting excited after he gets his.
 
Believe I ordered mine on 01APR15 (as part of a Starter Order) and received it nearly two weeks ago.
 
FWIW I thought I'd add a mini review to the thread. I've been whittling on a piece of oak with my SR-101 RMD. It's not green and starting to dry up, anyway after some time I noticed a new micro fold and a small nick in the blade near the tip and I stroped it out. Afterward I decided to try my CFV 4.7 to see what would happen. So far, with at least the same amount of whittling time, the CFV is just as sharp and has no micro folds. Something else that I found interesting is that the 4.7 is more comfortable than the RMD. This surprised me because I prefer knives with choils when I am whittling because they offer a little better control. However the 4.7 had all the control I could want and it has the most comfortable handle/scales than any of my other knives. Unfortunately I tore up my left thumb on the 4.7 and wish it had rounded edges like the RMD. I am not complaining about my RMD, it's still a great knife. I was just curious to see how the CFV 4.7's edge would do against the same piece of wood. The only downside is that I am probably going to get rid of most of my RMDs, most of which are INFI, because I prefer the 4.7. Oh well....

Just call Ellie and ask her when they are going to sell 4.7 scales and order yourself some!
 
That camo g10 seems so popular this run. It was featured on the main web page with a pic from Blackscout Survival. It's like the (un)official handle color of the new spec line :thumbup:

I'm interested to see how the new spine and jimping goes for me. My thumbs are sissies and I prefer my jimpless GSO 3.5 spine to my jimped 5. I hope everyone is happy striking their knives on their ferro rods ;)
I'm sure the new spec blades will give my thumbs plenty of opportunity to toughen up!

AND I'm anxious for materials for the 4.7 to be added for ordering. I'd like to add another set of handles or 2 at some point.
