I was hoping to find some stamping under the rust that would identify the axe maker.
Alas, all I found was a 2 1/2 pound stamp, and not even a very good one at that.
Makes me wonder if this is some Pacific Rim or Chinese steel.
Before I put any more time in it, I think I'll just sharpen it up, use it, and see how well the steel holds up.

Cleaned up good brother. I like it. I couldn't even find a weight on mine. I find some markings. Looks like there's a few 0's, then a 0 with an x through it, followed by an 11. and a few more zero's. It has US-ENG on it, of course as well as the Kelly brand mark. Then it has the true temper mark on the other side.
 
Wheeled and dealed with Nick a few weeks back about making a holster for me, for my trail hawk. Here's a few quick photos. They didn't turn out too good, as the lighting wasn't the best, but anywhos, here she be. Thanks brother, I like it a lot:

Yeah, those photos suck, wtf? When I took the one in the mirror, it was dark, but the flash made it too bright, so I held my finger over most of the flash while taking it. I had a setting set wrong, and couldn't get the flash to work at all. That's why the first ones suck so bad. I realized it before I took the last one.
 
The important thing is that you like it. I know what it looks like :D to hell with everyone else. ;) I keed I keed.
 
Not yet. I'm waiting for that and my 10 still :(:(:( The effing mail people here can be kinda slow. It once took 3-4 weeks for a priority or overnight package to get here from southern CA. Seriously??? Yeah..
 
I forgot to add I did get a Rat 5 in the mail yesterday...

No sheath but I'm gonna make a pretty kick ass one for it. For now though I'm gonna use my BK2's winger sheath for it. She fits nicely in there. :)
 
I was just told that it's not an ESEE or a RAT but that it's a RC-5. News to me. :confused: I like it any way it's spelled. :D
 
Its a RAT knife that Esee made.

Used to be called Rat Cultery then they decided to change there name to ESEE, same exact knife as the Esee RC5
 
Yeah the ontario Rat 5 is a whole different animal. Have one around here somewhere.
 
My wife is threatening to drop me off in the mountains with only 5 things of my choice. Hmm.......I think I might take her up on that. Paracord, BK10 (if it ever gets here :D), wool blanket, strikeforce, and my SS bottle. Really? I think I'll have to let her drop me off. :D

losing job sucks... mine ends in 5 weeks, and i don't have a for sure one lined up. jobs are good. they let us buy things. we like things.
 
Sorry to hear that man. Maybe grab some gear, cram a knife and get out there for a bit would help. Mental floss.

I'll meet you some where in between then. I've been laid off for 2 years. Yeah that's right unemployed for 2 years. We're still doing good. But driving to Utah and back is a bit much for me to do. How about we meet somewhere in Idaho?

It does suck losing work but I guess/hope I will find another that pays MORE
