If it gets that bad, I don't think a giant worry is going to be Aimpoint versus Eotech.

Here's my honest take on the aimpoint v.eotech thing, I'll be brief, then I'm leaving it alone.

First, they are different. They have different fields of view, different reticles, etc. So there is obviously some personal preference that will be involved for most people. I prefer the aimpoints.

Second, I have never heard any first-hand accounts of issues with aimpoints, but I have heard several with eotechs. If I was looking for a knife and my choices were similar (insert 2 nice custom bushcrafters from different makers) but I had heard that one of them had more end-user issues, I would probably go with the one that has less issues.

Third, for me, the battery life on the aimpoints is a big selling point. Big deal to some? Maybe not. I prefer the aimpoint in this regard also.

In the end it's not a big deal and it's dumb to bash someone for choosing one over the other. But I do think those looking into one or the other should do the research and get the hands-on time to make an educated decision.

damn, you went nuclear in a knife fight :p there's this old timer in the range i frequent that can out-shoot anyone with an s&b or nightforce scope with just his lowly irons at 200+ yds...in the end it's skills over gear. that's why i stopped surfing arfcom or other gun forums - i know i can't compete with them money-wise or skill-wise...i just do my own thing nowadays.

Just got my prize from Guyon!!! All I have to say is I am so blessed to know all of you and to know there are still awesome people in this world!!! Guyon not only sent me the Micra/Pocket knife combo, he also sent me some Camillus scales for my soon to arrive BK10!!!!!! I'm so excited and can't wait to put them on the BK10!!! I'm blown away by your kindness, brother!! Not meaning to get too sappy, but you all are a great bunch of guys (and girl) and I am very proud to know all of you!!

JM, you can post user pics. Flexxx, you cannot.

Seeing as how I sent him a giant bottle of Astroglide, hand sanitizer, and some bandaids, nothing he can post would be pretty. :p

Nope, irons are good with this guy. I definitely appreciate good optics (all of the aforementioned), but irons won't fail. Thanks Guyon for bringing the war to this front!:D

Okay, Axites... I've had this one knocking around in my storage barn.
No markings. It's older and from my parents' place, so my guess is US-made steel, but I could be wrong.
Could be reworked into something nice for a traditional Nessmuck trio.
I don't think the handle really fits it. 32" long and looks wrong.

So... what sort of handle should it have? Size and shape?
After I get it off this handle, I'll give it a good oil soak and hit it with a 3M sanding wheel.
