trade, I was inspired by the Busse Muk which does allow you to choke up close to the edge. Here's a side-by-side.

I'd like to try a Sears-like design where the handle flows right into the edge like many bushcrafters.

thinking of making a home made strop. I have a few production ones but wanted to try anyway. heard you can glue and old belt to a paint stir stick. is that true?
 
That'll work for sure.
I bought some strop making stuff, but haven't gotten 'round to it yet.

what are you using the urethane for? to make the wood pretty before hand or something i dont know about

He doesn't mow the lawn, I do, lol. I love to mow, always have. Eh, he's nearly 18, and a good kid. He can handle it.

Just going to poly the poplar so it'll be more durable over time.

Yes indeed! I myself used the heavy duty paint stir sticks from lowes. Well, used two of them glued together, then used rubber cement to attach the leather belt to the sticks. Works fantastic.
 
I get to use my new 11 for the first time this weekend. STONKIN HAPPY.
 
so i bought a blade as a gift off a popluar auction site as a gift. The seller told me bcuz i used paypal they couldnt ship it to the address i wanted, so we agree to cancel the deal. I told them that i would rebuy as soon as i had a full refund (which i was informed would take 3 days) The bday came and went and no refund. Then i get the refund today and an email saying the knife shipped and that i need to pay asap. I had to call the website and ask them wtf i was supposed to do now since the order was cancelled I was under no obligation to rebuy, even though i verbally said i would (with predetermined restrictions). So ebay says disregard its probably a mistake. So now wtf am i supposed to do when a knife shows up in the mail and i have a negative on my feedback for non payment? i hate stupid auction sites and the pieces of crap on there
 
You'll have your rage, and you'll have a new knife in your hand.

The math says the auction site pretty much told me that since its cancelled that shipping it is consider outside ebay and they wash their hands of it. So maybe ill get a free knife :D. No im not like that ill ship it back. Karmas a bitxh
