Use the Salem method. Throw it off a bridge. It it sinks, it wasn't sealed.

trade, that would be the London method. They hung them in Salem. :p

With apologies to Blind Horse, I went all "Tackle@#$! Forge choil" on my big Nessmuk.
I just did not like the way it handled in a choked up grip. Too much space between index finger and edge.
So I got out the Dremel and the belt sander and did some Beckerhead engineering.

Indexes so much better.

Don't worry, Ark, I cut and cleaned my fingernails later.
I'm going to polish up the blade a little more, convex the edge (I already started the convex by hand with sandpaper), and put on a patina. Mango, of course.

So what's the Nessie style good at? I've seen em around, mostly from custom guys and always wondered that. Never could justify pulling the trigger on something that I don't know enough about.

cutting, slicing, skinning, flipping pancakes, stirring, a spoon, feathersticks, and more

it's all about surface area, and thinness.

nessies are THIN knives.

Clich, you can tuck it in your waistband(appendix) for a few days. It is slow, but it will help mold it and you won't mess it up. make sure to get warm.

I've only got a halfway sharp convex edge on it right now, but it did well at slicing tomatoes for lunch and at making a fuzz flower.
It's going to be really nice when I get done with it. I might post up a more complete review over in Wilderness.

Wayne Whittaker for Alderman. Pass the word.
Also, I ate a peach. More news at 11.

Outstanding job on the nessie Gunyon. You curved it right in there and it flows with the design. I think LT should have a look at that. I'm going to go for the double up/pack up grinnin' discount on one of those next time..

I need a pic of a stock bk14 in hand stat! No wrap no handles. Anyone?

Oops, I removed my pic because I did not read closely, didn't see the "in hand" part. I will blame it on my small slanty eyes.
