Don't know. I've only Googled "outrigger."
If you can think of it for a kayak, they make it now. Leaning posts, trolling motor mounts, whatever.
They even make kayaks especially designed for the fisherman who wants to stand and cast.

I've read quite a bit about the DIY sets.
Problem with PVC is the flex. Aluminum is a better, more rigid material for the poles.
And those buoys on his set-up have to be heavy as can be. Foam is lighter and more buoyant.

This rig looks pretty good.

I was looking at one of those the other day at our last remaining local fly shop. I need a second job!

If everything works out as planned, I'll have a replacement for my old, now broken backpack in two weeks. The mighty 5.11 Rush 72, this thing is built like the BK-2 of the backpack world. It's like a tank that will swallow enormous amounts of gear.

And this is just the main compartment, there's the open area in the front, admin pocket in front of that, 2 small stuff pouches on top of the pack and two side pockets, a hydration sleeve which wits my 100oz Camelbak nicely, plus webbing to attach various other gear.

If you want more info about this pack, check out this series of videos by MilPic1:

The parts are 1,3,4,5 for some reason. Don't look for part 2, it is nonexistant.

Not sure about the color yet, I will be carrying it more in the woods than when traveling by car, train or plane, so I think OD would be a good choice. Advice?

Nice pack Meat, what color did you go with?

5.11 gear is pretty nice gear......

I want a Kifaru Xray but my Camelbak Linchpin is pretty damn awesome....I love the mystery ranch harness

That x-ray is pretty sweet, but coming from kifaru it probably busts my price range.

I didn't buy the Rush 72 yet, don't have that kind of money right now, but I will have it in 2 weeks if everything works out as planned. I'm not sure about the color yet, I think I'll go with OD. Black is too "tactical looking" and screams "here I am" in the woods, Sandstone looks nice when it's new or with some sand and dust on it, but if I throw it into the mud here once, its beauty is gone :D Same goes for FDE. I think OD is the best choice. I won't be traveling much anyways, and for woods use I like gear in OD.

5.11 OD is kinda different from the rest, I really like it......If it was me I would go with the Rush 24

Dumb video but you can see the color really good

Meat, I have the 24 in OD.

It's a great pack for the price. Mine has held up well and has plenty of pockets and MOLLE attachments.

How wonderfully vague. Considering they sell so many different product lines, you may want to try and narrow it down.

any good? quality? if it's a real maxpedition, it's good. that's about that.

It was a vague statement, meant to fish to see if anyone knew about maxpeditions. The pic below may narrow it down some. The reason i ask is its my first decent (i hope) pack and i traded a user hest for it so i hope i got a good deal. If anyone can let me know id appreciate it. I mean ive used it for sometime now and like it, but just dont know a thing about packs so info is really all im looking for

I wanna know how to do this, if anyone has any idea let me know. its the second knife in the thread. dont think this is deal spotting (since i aint talkiing about deals) but sorry if this is wrong
