Benchmade New Benchmade 756 MPR $340 WTF?

Am I the only one thinks their blade finishing leaves something to be desired on this one? I mean $340 is a lot of cash for belt satin with a light stonewash.

When I first saw this model I didn’t think it was real, thought it was an old April fools joke...what the appeal of a sub 2” folder is I cannot understand.

This one is even more bizarre than the craze of sub 2” California legal autos, if I lived in California I would just not carry and auto and have a blade size that is actual usable for something.

And then, there’s the Spyderco Drunken for $400+ dollars.

I guess if people are going to buy it, why not?
The Drunken looks so nice. Looks like something ZT would make (for obvious reasons), but they would charge $240 for it and have basically the same fit and finish. Very disappointing since its the first knife that has really appealed to me this year.

As for the "micro-flipper" craze as of late, I don't get it at all, but I'm glad the small-knife guys are getting more options.

I thought this was a limited edition where only 1000 were made or something... Then the price would be acceptable. Otherwise it's an ugly joke. Collectors gotta collect though.

I'm guessing a huge chunk of this cost is dealer map pricing that they requested to be a higher %

On top of all that they have the usual poor quality control issuesin such an expensive knife.

I hate clones but it's clear as day that this one will likely get cloned fast because of the absurd pricing..

I went through a Small/Micro flipper stage. Cool little knives that are fun to fidget for a while with but that's about it. They typically have crazy thick blades compared to the short blade length and just aren't really that useful for EDC. I've sold most of them and moved to more useful and functional knives.

For that price the blue pivot must be a blue sapphire.

I'd rather have 3 Strider Nails + Boker Subcom.

Benchmade policies and models are quite disorienting lately.
I am getting worried for them even though I shouldn't.

I'm new on this forum (first post!) . This knife checks all the boxes for me but I'm quite interested in alternatives. I've looked up the ones mentioned so far in this thread but would appreciate any others people might suggest. Here is what I am looking for:
Titanium handle
Locking blade
blade length ~2 inches
NOT auto
prefer flipper or thumb stud
high quality blade steel
Pocket Clip
Prefer bearings
prefer USA made

I have a ZT 0900 which I like but is still a little large for my use

Not quite as small as you might be looking for but check out the new Hogue microflip series.

... but it does a few things wrong. Tip down clip...
Say what now? Courtesy of Blade HQ.

Not trying to defend the price point, but they got the clip right this time.

Yeah I'm at a loss on that one.... it's for fidget toy collectors I guess. Practically worthless blade size and shape IMO, and like someone said that's basically small sebbie money. Big nope.

I wonder if there is some direct correlation between the price of these and the manufacturing cost. I really can’t imagine why these would be so expensive unless it somehow cost them just a bajillion dollars to produce them.

I’ve said it before, though: Even if this had a ceramic MRBS pivot + detent ball and a hand-ground blade straight from Sibert himself, this would still be a poor price. This is nearly gold-class pricing for a tiny and otherwise unremarkable flipper with a design that will restrict its potential market even further than the size and price point already do.

Considering you can get a Rike Hummingbird for only $150 - Ti, Damasteel blade, great flipping action, and probably better QC than recent Benchmade, this is laughable at $340.

Had I not already moved on from Benchmade, this would certainly do it...total slap in the face to their customers if you ask me.

There are worst ways to blow $300+
And there’s far far better ways to spend it. I was interested at first but that price, not to preach to the choir, is...exactly what I would expect from Benchmade unfortunately.
