New blade?

@Sal Glesser , thanks. I know you can't keep all blades in stock. But even on common blades, such as S30V PM2, S110V PM2, VG10 Delica, VG-10 Endura, and S30V Manix 2 blades, Spyderco still doesn't offer to sell the customer a new blade, right? I know you can't keep all blades in all blade steel offerings in stock, but for knives that are your bread and butter, like the ones I mentioned above as examples, wouldn't it be nice to offer the option of a new blade vs a the cost of a new knife to your customers? Again, I point to your competitor who do, indeed, offer this service. I've had several Spydercos over the decades that I've damaged the blades and would've loved to have had a new blade put in, but you didn't (& still don't) give me that option. I had to buy a brand new knife. In some instances, I've replaced them with other Spydercos. In others, I've gone with a knife from one of your competitors.

Curious of how many blades have you broken to where you'd need a replacement and how it happened?

It didn't appear he was blaming Spyderco for his accident nor the fact that his knife is now an interesting paperweight if it's not re-ground. The blade replacement thing comes up somewhat frequently and we all have our opinion on that part of Spyderco ownership and no amount of back and forth is going to change any minds. The only quasi rude comments was the poster steering the OP away from Spyderco and it was more classless than anything else. The blade replacement issue is the reason I have a price ceiling on Spyderco for example I really liked the Nirvana but when I'm paying Sebenza money I want CRK service since that's not offered for good or bad I'll keep my Spyderco's to $200 or less.

If I shorted a battery with my knife, I also wouldn't insinuate that sal was responsible for my newly acquired "$100 paperweight".

Please. Show me where I said it was Sal's fault. Go on. I'll wait. I have plenty of time.

Not at all, what you do have is a reminder of what not to do with your knife. Sometimes, the lessons we learn dig into the pocket book and there's no fun in that.
Had I not been helping someone in need, you might have a point or something like one. As It stands...you don't.

Anyway we could see the bent knife in question? I'm curious as to exactly know what was done to the knife to bend it so. No judgement - I understand that the knife was used for a non-knife task, but was the only tool available. And that you did a good thing for your fellow man. I'm just curious.

Continuous Quality Improvement. It's not a term Sal coined by any means.
All good man, I felt the thread needed some levity. :D Anywho, there are solutions available. Sure there are other companies that provide other services. At the end of the day, either the battle scars are worth it, or they are learning events, and that is up to the receiver. But there doesn't need to be snark and animosity over this. I'd love to see pics, and alongside Planterz sentiments, glad you are the kind of guy who helps out. The world can always use more of that sort of thing.

You are lucky you didnt hurt yourself. Hopefully you didnt trash the electrical system on the car when you helped out.
The knife should go in a prominent place as a warning to respect electicity.
Not even going to address the whining about a 100$ knife you stupidly mis-used.
This is not about spyderco...

Nobody said it was about Spyderco, genius. I asked if they would replace a blade and expressed disappointment that they wouldn't like every other manufacturer out there.

Not bent. Burned.

The irony of your avatar is not lost.
Pride is a hard thing to swallow.
likewise.

Shiny footprints anyone?

I just realized I left out the fact that it's fully serrated in my OP.

I don't think that should matter, they make plenty of serrated knives in Golden. I'd take a picture and email someone in customer service. You'll have to pay for the regrind, but at least you'll have a functioning blade after that. I've arched tools on batteries before by accident, it happens. Don't sweat the haters and take Sal up on the regrind!
