the cold steel logo on some of that utter crap like those new shurikens
They need to change the catalog descriptions:
Our Sure Strikes aren't like the cheap, shoddy throwing stars you see at flea markets, guns shows, and in martial arts magazines although we now sell that crap too.

That Mayhem actually looks nice (in an outlandish Cold Steel kind of way) … wish it had the Triad lock. Wonder how much the AUS-10 version will cost?
KnifeCenter has it listed for $240 (MSRP $350). That's a "no thank you" price for an AUS10 blade and plastic scales in my book, unfortunately. Also makes me think the S35VN/G10 version will be priced more like the 4-MAX, again unfortunately.

I WILL NOT BUY ANY GSM KNIVES!!!! Yes, I’m cranky about the subject. Long live OLD STEEL!!!
I will. What's wrong with GSM? Yes, they're making some cheap stuff, but the higher end knives are just as good as before. How many Atlas lock failures have there been? How many GSM knives have failed since the takeover? I've been noticing improved fit and finish in the new 3V Natchez Bowie, San Mai BBC, 3V Recon Scout and Trail Master. Everything is still made in the same factories. If anyone can find any proof that GSM "made" knives are inferior to the original Cold Steel, please let me know.

The customer service also seemed to be really rather lacking compared to before as well.
I’m not planning on purchasing anything from them currently, as these two videos, their change in customer service quality, and some of the products they introduced has made me quite hesitant to go with them.

That isn’t to say I won’t in the future, but I am wanting to wait it out a bit to see if things improve.

I didn't know about the Engage not engaging. If they start letting knives like that out the door, that's a big problem. Looks like a defective/weak spring. I think it's a Demko designed lock, so it should work if it's made right.

Just saw this a few minutes ago. Most curious about the new Kobun and the Seax. That’s about it for me.

The Mayhem doesn’t inspire confidence. At least with the oversized Voyager XL, it was a ridiculous knife that could still get work done. The Mayhem looks like scrapped concept art of the Talwar.

When they announced the atlas lock, both GSM and Demko both said he had no involvement in the lock design. The shark lock is the one made by Andrew Demko.

I’ll give the devil their due in that the pocket bushman has a similar issue when it was forest released due to the design of the ram safe lock and the spring warping, but that was a chap beater knife, not one that selling for the prices of those engage series. Plus it wasn’t their new flagship product.

That's not good. Why are they using a faulty lock on so many new models? I'm glad i'm a fixed blade guy!

GSM either does not understand Cold Steel's customer base or think they can BS their way to riches, despite huge price increases with no proof of improvements .

CS fans expect more than just new novelty crap at ridiculous prices .

Today , I can buy a Rajah ll for less than $90 . Prove the Mayhem is better ...AND sell it at a value price .

They tried that with their Razor tek knife that was about $200 for 4116 steel. They recently had to massive reduce it by about half that because of the negative feedback.

I had to return the 6.5" version. The handle was unusable for me, even for $57.
