New Company looking for feedback on up and coming products!

I will have some XL models down the road for people with bigger meat hooks. A 'one size fits all' approach is exactly what I am trying to get away from. I have put a ton of hours into the spacing, depth and placement of the finger grooves.

This is exactly what I want to hear from a newcomer to the knife making world! I have larger hands and I hate getting knives that don't fit. PLEASE let me know when the 10 is in production for those XL hands! I will be probably 100th in line at this point, but I will definitely be in line!

After the first preproduction run I'll be offering my models with or without the glassbreaker pommel. Yeah, I realize that some people do not like that. For you purists out there, I'm making a nice little 3" blade model. A little less than 7"OAL and NO Glassbreaker! lol You'll be able to use the handle slabs or just roll skeletonized.

I like the looks of that 5 and am looking forward to the new 3. I'm on a couple of hours away from you, do you have a store front yet or only planing on the net for sales?

All the knives look good, and offering the skull crusher option is a good idea. Personally I like choices in knives, I don't always want the same exact thing that the next guy has, I've always felt that just ONE of the reasons Busse, Swamprat and Esee are such great companies, you get a choice on stuff like handle colors, blade coating, etc. But if you make it in cpm3v, I'll be taking it no matter what!

My first four styles are leaving the bevel grinder and heading to Peter's for heat treatment the end of this week. They are all 3V. lol. Even my monster 10.5" chopper. For all of you bushcrafters and outdoor purists, I have taken all of your feedback into account and have developed a sweet bushcrafting knife. It's a sleek piece that features a flat pommel. Perfect for some light pommel hammering. With it's slim profile and light weight, this design will also make a great edc. I am planning on doing these in A2 and CPM3V but I know some of you wanted some 1095 action.

By the time the rendering is done on this model, my other models will be released and you'll be able to see the quality to expect from the SURVIVE! camp. If enough of you commit to purchasing one of my new bushcrafters in 1095, I'll include that in the run. I won't be looking for any money up front, just a commitment. For that you'll get a sweet price, your choice of powdercoat color and your choice of handle color and material.

Keep your eyes open over the next few weeks because it's happening. Things have been a slow roll getting started but just give me a chance and I will impress you with a really high quality knife at a reasonable price. Expect more. We'll Deliver.

I'm almost positive you will get your wish on people prying, batonning, chopping and making improvised spears as it would appear your target market is military types. Everyone likes something different, so please don't change too much of what you like about your knives just because someone says, although I agree with two main factors that pop up quite a lot on this thread, one finger groove max (none for me personally) but as stated they get in the way for a lot of different grips, and please take the guys advice on rounding off/flattening the "skull crusher" as a pointy pommel does more to harm the wearer than it does to help him. trust me, most guys that carry someting like that end up taping it up or grinding it off, because they're tired of getting poked by it. just my two cents.

Hey guy...... just wanted to let you know I was handling the wood mockup up at sean's place in Frederick..... very nice... will definitely be one of first to test them out...... good luck... Mike

Thanks a lot man. I know Sean tells me that he has to get that mock up out at least once a day to play with it. It makes me feel good that he can choose any knife on the market from his store for his EDC and he wants one of mine. A lot of people seem dead set against the idea of my handle design at a glance. Just have to put them in people's hands to show them. It really just feels "right" in your hand, no matter how you grip it. 95 blades just went out to Peter's heat treat this afternoon. It won't be long now. Bark River was gracious enough to throw a full height convex grind on all of these preproduction models for me. These are really going to be something special.

Waiting to see real pics, I think this may be something to put on my must have list. Cant wait for some feedback from the passaround, this crowd will tell it like it is. Good luck. I know its been beat to death but just one more vote against the pointy scull crusher. But I do like the jagged type from the Ranger knives or none at all just flat with the handle like BHK or Bark River does.

Yep, I am working on variants with more of a hammer style pommel. Until things get rolling, some of my preproduction models will have the glass breaker pommel ground off. Some love the breaker pommel idea, others hate it. I will eventually have several variants to meet different needs in each size range. I have so many knife designs that I can't wait to share with everyone. It will just take me some time to get everything together and moving.

i think that your idea was great but i personal suggest you that you should have to contact some steel bar manufacturers for some innovation for your products they gave you some better ideas about its quality assurance...... :)

2011-12-01_17-29-52_223.jpgOk, a few of the first prototypes are finished up. Look for some use and abuse videos featuring some of these knives.
The first batch of these knives will be extremely limited. So be ready when they become available if you want one.

Outside of a few stragglers, the prototype run is completely finished. I'm going to go ahead and shut this thread down. Thanks for stopping by and please visit www.survive-gear.com over the next few weeks to see the up coming GSO-10 and EDC-4, the first two SURVIVE! production models.
