The cat is part of the kit....when you can't find food...

Cat? What cat? That's my bear trap! :D

He likes lying on his back looking quiet and unassuming and when someone goes to pet him--BAM!!! It's easy to stay well fed in the woods when you have him as your partner!

Here is my survival kit.

No intention to offend anyone. Just a smile at the approach of Christmas.

I am gonna enter this one.... Im pretty busy, so it might be weds before I get something up.....

I dunno, I am either gonna post my bottle holder kit/ RC4, or my RC4 kit, or my Truck jump bags..... Hmm... we shall see!!

Mine isn't very extensive or large as a lot of other equipment is just part of my regular gear. This is kind of a "bug out bottle" that I have on my LBE with odds and ends that'll make it easier to survive and can take the place of things that may be damaged, lost, used etc.

Standard 32oz Nalgene bottle. Not very showy if I need to E&E, waterproof, floats, and can be used to hold water should my main supply in my camelback/canteens run out.

The blades. RAT Model 1 folder, small enough to tuck in the kit and a back up for whatever fixed blade I'll be carrying (I'm favoring the desert KA-BAR now) but is still perfectly serviceable as a survival blade. I've made fuzz sticks with this knife (very good for this task), batoned, and generally abused it: no problems. The Imperial SAK is just for the tools and a back up to a back up (you never know) and could be used for bartering if the need arises. The small hacksaw is for fences I might need to get through even though I carry a Leatherman (again, a back up).

The whole kit. Up top is purple smoke, great signalling device :D. Then left to right:
Row 1: Bandage, compass, RAT Model 1.
Row 2: Another bandage, razor blade and fish hooks wrapped in duct tape and then fishing line (about 100ft), magnesium fire starter with flint, baby hacksaw, iodine tablets, CD fragment for signalling.
Row 3: 100ft of 550 cord with one end open for easy of gutting if my hands are that cold, lighter line, bic lighter, floating whistle with matches in the waterproof compartment, small flashlight for navigation, another whistle (just in case).
Row 4: 2 Trioxane fuel bars for fire starting, disposable poncho, Imperial SAK. The red bandana is there for signalling, water filtration, bandage use, or anything else I might need it for.

Good gear:thumbup:

Thanks for making this available:thumbup:

I usually use a more compact kit consisting of a thong and rat, but different strokes for different folks.

Sweet mother of all that's itsy-bitsy, you are just beggin' for smart ass remarks about your compact package and different strokes. :p
