New Designs, Fell Chef 2.0, Mega Fillet, Mega Boner

Aeb-L is still tougher. Toughness of both of them doesn’t become equal until 64 rc. According to Larrin’s chart.

Magnacut at 61rc is about as tough as AEBL at 63rc, but with higher edge retention and stain resistance. Probably harder to sharpen though.

Currawong Currawong the edge retention and also the corrosion resistant both increase on AebL at 63rc. So for the money AebL and 14C28N get “close” to MC at a cheaper price.

That is my interpretation of his charts?

That would be great as well. But at high hardness, what benefit does AEB-L have over magnacut at 61 or 62rc? Mainly that its cheaper? Or is it still significantly tougher?
Still tougher. Also, it sharpens soooo easily.

I have 2 kitchen knives in AEB-L at hrc 63-64. They're so thin that you can slice transparent pieces of carrots and cheese without even trying. Due to their thin geometry they cut very well and have excellent "edge retention". In addition to this, a few passes on a ceramic rod brings them back to razor sharp if they ever get dull.

They're absolutely fantastic.

Good news is with these I can run 2-3 different steels. I think the best thing to do is going to be a pre-order with a small deposit so we can get everyone exactly what they want.

I'm thinking Magnacut at 62-63 will be the bulk of these. It checks the most boxes for performance and is the most balanced across the board.
I could also run ,
AEBL for lower cost
Z Tuff or CPM 1V at maxed out hardness for the "Ma-chef-te" (brilliant Z zaedion ) I keep coming back to the fact that this blade will be big enough to clear brush and use as a camp knife.
3V for some classic all around performance

Besides the choil, what is the primary difference between the filet and the boner?

Thanks for the answer! The line drawings look pretty close. I'm always watching for good filet knives, so I will be watching this space closely!
I just got in some .120 Z Tuff some I'm getting the prototypes for 7 different models cut on the water jet this week.

Pray for me boys, I'm not used grinding bevels from scratch anymore. 😅 My elbows are going to be in for it.

Still got it though.

Thank you sir. Please keep us posted of the sale and the specs when you get a chance. I am glad you are offering this, not a lot of blades offered in z tuff. Put a little love on the finish, I’m a little bougie.
