I’m ready for pre-order mania. It makes a lot of sense to make the bigger blades first if you feel the price of steel will increase. The Waki and Kukri are definitely on my wishlist.
Hopefully, this will motivate you to go into full time knife making. I don’t know of any other knife makers who can compete with you that can produce good value blades without sacrificing quality.
Oh heck yeah! I am envisioning letting out the inner Forest Ninja. The Bush Waki is going to change the game. I think its the blade we all want, at least the one I wantI'm going to have to keep a couple of them for myself.
This is exciting!Im thinking about doing "pre-order mania" as soon as modeling is completed.
I'm growing very, very concerned about tariffs and inflation and the impact they could have on my ability to make big blades. Its keeping me up at night. Ill always be able to make small knives, but if the price of steel were to go up, at a certain point it would completely kill my ability to make things like swords or Kukris where you are getting only about 10 blades out of an entire sheet and need custom rolled sheets.
Now through 2026 I want to make the following models while steel is still available and affordable.
1. Bush Waki
2. Tyrant Waki
3. Tyrant Katana
4. Tyrant Kukri
5. Liberator Bolo 2.0
6. Super 8
7. Fjord hiker.
I think Im going to launch pre-orders for these all at once and just get the ball rolling on them and have them locked in at good prices. I also want to go mostly full time into knife making and need to fill out my books/ know there is enough demand if Im going to take the plunge.
I'd need a 50% deposit for the Waki's, Kukri, and Katana (to cover custom ordered steel and complex tooling) but only a $50-$100 deposit for the Super 8, Fjord Hiker, and Liberator Bolo 2.0 ( to cover tooling setup, these models can all use off the shelf sized sheets and I dont need a $20K steel order to get then in the size I need).
I'll see if I can launch the EDC as well. Only issue... is I'm wanting to make them in 10VI was just wondering whether the EDC or Fell 14 will be part of the "pre-order mania" lineup, or in a future run. Soooooo excited to see what you have in store for us!!!
When will the liberator bolo be available?
Is the preorder for the Waki, Katana and Kukri still going to happen before the Liberator bolo?I'll see if I can launch the EDC as well. Only issue... is I'm wanting to make them in 10VI'm going to hold off on the Fell 14 for now because I think it's role is too similar to the Liberator Bolo.
Soon. That will be one of the first blades that get finished. I've made them before and the tooling is straight forward.
I'm going to be a mad man and launch them all together as soon as we have the logistics and modeling ready! Ill leave the pre-orders open for a while to give people time to decide and get funds. Is the preorder for the Waki, Katana and Kukri still going to happen before the Liberator bolo?
Okay, you are really a mad man. HahahaI'm going to be a mad man and launch them all together as soon as we have the logistics and modeling ready! Ill leave the pre-orders open for a while to give people time to decide and get funds.
The bolo will probably get made before anything. It uses off the shelf sheets and has simple tooling.
I know it may be a little mad, but this is my way of getting all these models off the ground at good prices for you guys. The bolo, super 8 and fjord hiker pre orders will all be very small deposits. Its really just to give me an idea of demand and to get the capital in to pay for the tooling.Okay, you are really a mad man. Hahaha
Thanks for giving us time. I’ll stop buying any knives before the pre-order
