New Doug Ritter folder

Received mine yesterday. Here are some photos (I'm not the best photo taker)

Two odd things that I've noticed: 1) slight side to side blade play; 2) when slowly closing the blade with two hands (one hand folding the blade and the other on the handle), the entire able lock bar rotates. Has anyone else noticed that? if not, please test yours and let me know if it (able lock bar rotating) is normal.

My clip created a hot spot on my hand. Switched it w/ a BM clip & comfy. Now the clip on my EX-01 is comfy, go figure.

This is what I was talking about too.

I think the screw-end of the clip can be a bit deeper/longer (without covering the lanyard hole) so that the knife will stick out even less from the pocket. Honestly for the positioning of the 3 body screws/spacers and the lanyard hole and the pocket clip profile, I prefer the setup of Gen 1.

The use of g10 with the sunburst pattern plus the open construction is a big plus for gen 2 over gen 1. I also like gen 2 with screws on both sides of the handle.

Action-wise, I can't tell the difference between ABLE lock and Axis lock.

Speaking of the able lock, mine has a odd feature. Specifically, when closing the knife slowly with two hands (one folding the blade and the other holding the handle), the entire able lock bar rotates in place before preforming it's standard forward and backward movement. Does yours do that? Or is my situation out of the norm?

No mine does not do that. It sounds the blade tang is dragging the lockbar to rotate rather pushing it. Try applying some lubricant to the lockbar to see if it helps.

The only lubricant I have is mineral oil, the type sold in pharmacies as a laxatives. Will that work?

This thread and it's predecessor were quite a read. More engaging than the NBA finals

I'm glad the knife community wasn't hurt by this as some of you were worried about

How exactly that was going to happen I have no idea. But we can all rest easy knowing the lawyers of all relevant parties are happy.

Hahaha

I ordered two! Love the blade. And the first production I got last year is my favorite of the year! Loved it and can't wait for more
