New Dual Survival Personality is no Longer a secret

If it scripted, couldn't they script out the headbutting?

headbutting is scripted too..
I had to laugh when sheep Shepard walked in with exactly the same emergency blanket.. scripted I tell ya even Romanian peasants are in on it LOL

I think that was the hot air signaling balloon that they made with the emergency blanket. Vindication for Teti, I suppose.

I think that the original balloon flew far far away. the peasants were hired by DC to appear with one just like it at the right moment :D

Tuesday's new episode. I thought Cody got down to Joe pretty quick there considering how much they expanded on the deep snow. There was an expanded shot and the smoke seemed at least a full length day's away.

To me they are running out of ideas, there are only so many environments to stage a survival show in, and they are kinda hitting the same ideas over and over already.

I know the general TV viewership probably would not care for it, but if they focused on actual skills more than having to constantly rope down waterfalls, it would be a lot better. I mean how many waterfalls and cliffs do people need to rappel down?!

I always find a cliff or waterfall to rappel when I find some rope or a parachute in the woods. Don't you? I wanna see them crash land a cessna or beaver in the ocean. Or go down with a ship or sub trapped below decks. Or get dropped off on a backstreet in Mogadishu or Terhan.

I'd like to see them stranded in South East DC and try to get rescued...

I've caught a few episodes with the new guy. I do like that they have shown a few different methods of fire starting, etc. I dont like how in one episode, he smoked a bunch of bats out of a tree that had been used as their home for years. If it turned out to be a suitable shelter (I did not see the entire episode), I think that would be acceptable in an actual survival scenario. Not for entertainment purposes. Taking an animal here or there is one thing, and I am all for hunting, but to displace that many animals for no reason pissed me off. I am still trying to figure out why they equate military service with survival skills. They arent the same thing.

Been in the streets of Mogadishu, and don't think they could make their way out of that one. I got to this thread late, so sorry. I spent my first 4 years in the Marine Corp. from 1992 to 1996 (1993 in Mogadishu) then I went into the Army from 1996-2000, because My MOS (military occupational specialty) was frozen for promotion/reenilstment.
As for Joe, I can't stand him. He is a huge Tool. I don't trust his resume either. Dave was good for the show, he was only opinionated when it came to hunting for meat. Joe has an issue with everything, and makes stupid decisions all the time, like skinning that bloated steer.

I completely agree, they aren't the same thing. Staying alive in combat is mostly luck, with skill as the cherry on top. Survival skills in a wilderness situation is completely different. I've been through mountain warfare training and cold weather training and neither one of these skill set would have helped me out in the streets of Mogadishu.
