New Feature: iTrader

Looks like a bug. I'll try to figure out what's going on.

one thing I have noted is that when I go to look at the feedback left for others, it lists 4 pages... I was cranking them out so maybe it has not caught up with me yet. :D

This feature is just up a day and you have already left a 4-page long list of feedback??? You bet you were cranking it out... If even the system can't keep up with you then what hope does anyone else have??? ;)

There is a bug with the code that generates the page links in iTrader... the parameter that should be "iv" is renamed "v" by the code that generates those links, and the display code doesn't recognize that parameter.

You are welcome. ;)

Yeah, I already posted a question about that on the support forums for the iTrader product. Thanks for the heads up though.

Cool. Now if I can just get everyone with whom I've dealt to leave me feedback. :D

I would love to, IF I could find the link ;)
(of our transaction ;) )

I think this is a great idea! Thanks Spark!

Two people I've bought from in the past have left me feedback with iTrader, which I appreciate. But, I'm having a difficult time posting a positive for them, which I'm sure they'd appreciate. I've always been very careful to leave comments in The Good, Bad and Ugly. While I like the new feature in theory, it's feeling like additional work. I'm probably making some error in my efforts to post feedback, but it all seems a bit complicated and redundant. I've tried using both the URL from the seller's post and from my past GB+U feedback with no luck. I think the new feature needs some streamlining.
Thanks,
Sam

You can't leave feedback on feedback threads. The URL has to be the for sale thread itself. If you are having problems, I need more information to help you. What is one of the threads youare trying to leave feedback on?

Hi Spark,
I've tried using the URL from the same threads people used in the feedback they gave me–the one containing my "i'll take it." I also thought I'd try the URL from my own post within the thread, but no go.
I've gone from the link to the person's feedback, to "leave feedback," to setting the rating, leaving the comment and pasting in the seller's URL from the sale. I wind up with "innacurate sale information" or some such thing.
Thanks for your attention.
Sam

If it doesn't work out, it can be removed just as quickly as it was put in.
I hope not, it is a quick way to see who you are dealing with, problems with usage will be worked out as soon as folks get familiar with it, I for one really like it. You can tell real quick if someone is always paying promptly or taking time to ship just with one click, If someone posts in the exchange and has 0, it may take an extra email or two to be sure of whom we are dealing with. Few Post and no feedback would be a flag for sure for me and I do not have to go to the GB&U, I can, but probably not.

I know right now that it is causing some problems, even I have had them, but quickly caught on and I hope the Mods and SuperMods are not being bombarded with flags to check every feedback. Please give it some time and see what happens down the road in a month or so.

Thanks Spark,
I DO APPRECIATE THE NEWER RATING SYSTEM, I was not around for the chicklets.

Since other people are able to leave feedback, something must be working. Give us a couple of the URL's you are trying to use.

Thank you again for adding this. In going back through, I found some that I had failed to recognize in GB&U.

This will be a nice supplement to GB&U.

I have not read through this entire thread as of yet, so forgive me if this has been addressed already..

.. But I recon the Swap Thread over in the Traditional Fixed & Folding is not allowed to participate in the iTrader trading feedback function. I have tried to trade feedback with some fine members here an I get an Invalid Thread error..

Help,

Anthony

Correct. Only threads in For Sale or Trade forums, not any threads from any others.

Spark,
I'm pasting the URL from the original sale thread–the same thread used in the feedback I've received from sellers.
The message is: "there was an error in your deal details." What details?
Thanks,
Sam
OK, seems it requires typing in an additional comment in the large window. All's well. Thanks, Spark.

whew, just did 29, all positive, only bad deal I had was with a maker who no longer makes

I was a little repetitive with the comments, but it was quicker that way :D

Only issue I see is that I can't credit everyone, sometimes it's all done in PM or email with no post in the thread. Also missed a few because of the purge. Oh well, fun nonetheless.

I was able to leave feedback on knives I purchased via PM and not posts in the sale thread. If the seller sold the knife to someone and they paid, they can leave feedback even if the "I'll Take it" is not posted by buyer. I tend to keep some of my purchases quite so to speak. Have had return feedback on the same thread by seller, but I never posted in his thread. So you may have some more to do.:D

cool, that worked; I thought the system checked to make sure both parties had posted to the thread, my mistake :D

edit: don't forget the knifemaker sale section

Yea, but subject to abuse, I think that is why Spark meant when he said Banning would be possible for the abuse or misusing the system. Overall, I like it, just can't find all my threads.:grumpy::grumpy:
