New GEC #48 with Wharncliffe blade?

I came home from out of town and here she is! I love the design. Pull is nearly perfect on both blades and both blades are supremely useable!

Sunlight and patience do a better photograph make. On further reflection and comparison to the other examples in this thread I am satisfied with the jigging and coloration, and I am confident that after a year or two of pocket wear this one can only get better. I am ecstatic with the proportions and taper of the wharncliffe!

I would have liked to see "busier" jigging a-la Schrade Peachseed stye. Still waiting for that on any new knife.

I'm a little late to the photograph party, but here are some at last. This #48 WT is my first in Natural Stag, and I love it!
Mike (knifeswapper) picked it out for me, and it has the quality of good ivory, plus some popcorn and even thickness. Enjoy!

[KQUOTE=LEOGREG;12738296]I pretty much shot my knife budget this month buying this # 55 so I'll probably have to resort to the "poor man's"
#48 improvised trapper.

Nice #55 Leo!! I'm really liking the Warnie blade more and more as I read these threads. At first it didn't click with me at all, but I'm seeing on in my future I do believe. My 55 is a Spear and it's my favorite EDC by a long-shot. It's literally never out of my reach since the day I got it four months ago. The 55 is just a classy pattern. And now this 48 has my attention lately I will say.

If the #48 comes out in a single blade Warnie I'm jumping on that for sure. Perhaps one in Autumn Gold bone?? :)

Wow Jeff, add me to impressed list on that beauty! That's some nice stag on that trapper for sure

Those are going to be very nice Trand; I like the 'houndstooth' shield. Great job Mike and GEC!

These are lookin' real sweet as well, and unlike ML's SFO's, I get to fondle some before they fly off dealers shelves!

I have one in African blackwood but it has been "under the tree" (as my GF puts it) for the past month.
I got to order and handle it for inspection, so I can say that it has excellent F+F and the pull is about a 4-5 on both blades.
The GF has already named my #48 "Black Beauty" so i'll just call her "BB" to keep all parties happy ;)

Now that looks like a 80yr old knife!

This one reminds me of the Case / Bose collaboration. One of my favorite patterns to date by GEC. So I scrapped the etch, put a satin finish on a NF, put a houndstooth shield on it, and can't wait to rub on them.

Also excited to see what the single muskrat clip models look like....
