I have ordered a few expensive knives from New Graham Knives before and was very pleased. However I was very dissapointed in my last transaction.
I purchased a BM 42 with 154cm blade. I believe its the latest version. When i recieved it and opened the case it was not in the usual plastic that benchmade packs most their knives in. Then I notice that the blade was
440C. To make things worse the blade had skuffs from use on it and also some on handle. I paid 185 for the one i was expecting and when i got the 440c one the box price said 145. I called to complain and the lady said it was the older model. But i did not order the older model I was under the impression that i was going to get the newer one as stated on their website. The one I orginally ordered. She did not offer to make things right or anything anything like that so i had to ask to at least be refunded the difference in cost from the older model and new one. I was very suprised that a company with its rep had done this to me. If they did not have the knife i ordered call me and let me know you dont have it. Dont send me a knife that is used and did not order. ANyway, I am just highly dissapointed.

Why not just exchange it for the correct model?

Are you saying they refused to do that?

edit--Also, this belongs in the "feedback" sub-forum.

They said they were not going to get any more benchmade knives in after they run out of their stock. They said they had no more of what I had ordered. I figured that is why they sent me what they did. Which was wrong. So they had nothing for me. i guess i could have asked for my money back but dont want to deal with it. I am planing on getting another bali anyway so this one will be my knife i pratice with along with my trainer.

I guess they are feeling the economic crunch with the rest of us. If what you said is true.. they were very wrong in not informing you! I don't care for Benchmade knives anyway so, they would not have pulled the switcheroo on me. There are some online dealers that just pull it off the shelf & send it to you without inspecting the knives. This happened to me once & they have lost my business! Too much trouble & expense to return 20 buck knives. In your case I would ask for a full refund as 185.00 is nothing to sneeze at!

Did their website advertise 154CM when you bought it? It shows out of stock now, of course, but it appears a BM42 with 154CM is what they were selling most recently:

Sounds to me like they sold you a new old stock knife they had been using as a display. I'd be pissed.

No more Benchmade for NGK? Wow. Surprising considering the chat on the Benchmade forums about keeping retailers happy.

michael (owner of NG) is a member here. you could send him a PM and see if he can help you out at all. i believe his full name is michael dye.

here he is

When talking to the lady she said they were not going to carry benchmade after their stock is gone. Weather they meant only the Balisongs or all the Benchmade knives I was not sure but the way she said it made it sound like the entire line of Benchmade.

Give Mike a chance to respond before you go jumping to conclusions. I'm certain there's a logical explanation, and knowing him and the others there, I'm certain they will make it right.

You might want to ask one of the Mods to move this to the proper forum, too.

+1 on what SPX said! New Graham and Mike Dye are one of the best online stores out there. Nine out of 10 knives I buy come from New Graham. Use the link and give him a call, as I am sure he will make you happy!

185 is a lot of money, I would not settle for anything less. To make things worse you got a USED knife?

wow thats not right! i hope my benchmade mini griptilian will be right when i get it!

i'm sure mike will respond and if they did do anything wrong they will make it right, i have zero doubts about that.

Stormyone, Nothing is missing. It comes down to I ordered a BM42 with a 153cm blade for 185.00. I got a used looking 42 with a 440c blade and the box had a New Graham sticker price of 145.00 I ended up getting the difference but in the end it was not what I ordered. They did not have anymore in stock and were not going to get anymore. I guess i could of just got a total refund but that still would not have excused what I got. Anyway, I will just keep this one and use it at home as my practice knife along with the 42t . When i go out to places i will take the new one I am going to buy.

thats really not ok, they should compensate you, they build there good service and now thats what they are doing? not good. i really hope i get mine like they say because what i ordered is out of stock also.

they show a wrong pictures for the description!

i got this

This story is not clear at all. Did you get the difference refunded? I would really like Mike Dye to have a chance to comment on this or contact the original poster. He runs a very reliable organization.
