FWIW its not realistic to shoot for 100% accuracy on something like this, folks make mistakes, simple as that.
 
One more thing I wanted to add...

When I ordered the BM42, I made a mistake and used an account of mine that did not have enough money in it to clear the card I used. Instead of just declining and canceling the order, which would have been perfectly acceptable behavior on their part, I get an email (written by an actual person and not some automatically generated crap) telling me what happened and How I want to proceed.
I emailed back and told them what was wrong and that I would transfer money into the account so the card would work on the next day.
The next day comes around and I realize that it was a holiday and the banks were of course closed.
So I mailed back and asked if they could hold the knife for just one more day and in the very speedy reply I was told that it was absolutely no problem and that I should just mail them again when the account held the money.
The next day I mailed them, the card was run and my knife was shipped.

So... I made an embarrassing mistake and was still treated with respect and kindness from the wonderful staff at NGK. They did not have to hold the knife at all for me. The BM42 would have sold easy enough, but they let me get my stupid mistake straight and did it with pleasure.

So anyone that dogs NGK is either looking for something for free or is simply a d##k that can't be made happy, no matter what.

As for them sending me the BM42 with a 440C blade, that was actually a mistake which worked to my favor.
It's going to and was always meant to be a flipper and not a user/EDC, so I don't need the higher end steel for edge retention and bragging rights (not that 440C is a bad steel mind you). I basically got a brand new in box BM42 for $145 after NGKs refund. I'd say that was a grade A situation for me. I'm sure there are some more folks out there that would jump at the BM42 for that price, no matter what steel the blade is. Especially with BMs new policies and bull...

Long story short. I can say from personal experience that NGK is the example which other e-tailers should be measured against when it comes to prices, products and most of all customer service! :thumbup:

A few weeks ago, I contacted Michael and Anne for some very hard to find knives. One for me and the others for a couple of close friends on the forums. NGK had sold out of the knives.

I am still in awe of the effort and time Anne and Mike put into getting these knives for us.
 
i've talked to mike several times on the phone and he's never been anything but courteous and helpfull, FWIW NGK is always the 1st place i look when i am looking to buy some cutlery, good selection, good prices, they ship fast, & most of all they are good people and stand behind the products they sell,

You got me there. I really hate when I come here and it turns out the web store has good prices and selection and has made a reasonable effort to make the customer happy after making a mistake. I really, really hate it when the owner comes into the thread and posts a reasonable explanation of what happened and the customer says he is AOK.

I really, really, really hate it... because now I feel like ordering something from NGK (I wonder what selection of Enduras they have now...). :)

If you re-read the entire thread OJ, the OP DID leave something out: the fact that they offered to refund his money plus shipping PRIOR to his post here. This is a lack of clarity on the OP's part.

Even in YOUR sequence of events NGK offers the full refund AFTER the customer's call. Where is anyone saying that the full refund was offered during the one and only call the OP made to rightfully complain?

Where? I may not be perfect, but I am not posting out of boredom, I do not see what you are claiming, even the posts you quote disprove you.

Please let me see where anyone claims that any type of refund was offered before the customer had to ask for some kind of relief.

UNNECESSARY DISCLAIMER: If I were to place an order for a new knife, my first stop would be NGK. I like them, most customers like them, even the OP appears to like them (he DID order from them). In my humble virtual experience they are among the best Knife/EDC-Gear dealers in the net, and they have a continued presence in this forum. Rinse and repeat. Void where prohibited. See store for details.
