Did anyone notice the 30% off code on the BM page? Makes these higher end builds closer to $170ish shipped.
 
What is the coupon code? I don't see it but would like to use it if possible. Thanks
 
Yeah, I don't see it on mine either. I'm pretty sure it's only available for law enforcement and military folks.

That's probably what it is, sorry for the false alarm. Usually items are just displayed with a lower price, the code is new.
 
Does anyone know if you can send in your current standard grip and have it modified with the new g10 scales and new blade? Maybe that would be cheaper?

You can buy a new blade, but I don't think you could get any of the custom graphics or lettering. I'm pretty sure Benchmade doesn't sell the handles separately.
 
I just got off the phone with BM, they told me that they would not retrofit an existing standard grip with the new blade steels or g10 scales. It would've had to be a custom grip from them to start with. Just FYI.

I'm not surprised by that, but thanks for calling them. I've got a Ritter with S30V and was just thinking of asking for an M4 blade.

I wonder if they can put an upgraded blade on mines. It was a custom I got in 14 with 154cm. An m4 sheepsfoot would be nice
 
Just tried it out and built a KILLER Grip in forest green G-10 and M4 with a skull and cross bones on the blade.... and then saw the price.

Man, what a bummer! Would be such a sweet piece but way out of my price range.

Ah well.... I do have a pretty awesome wallpaper of my dream Grip. :D
 
I am sending in my mini from the custom shop from a few years back today. Hoping to upgrade to g10 handles and a sheepsfoot M4 blade. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Does anyone know if the g10 griptilian handles are as fat and thick as the Nylon handles?
 
Received my all black M4 Tanto with vert G10 553 and satin 20CV sheepsfoot, everything else black vert G10 550HG the other day. Will try and get pics in the next few days. Both need adjustments to get the action tuned. Kinda hoped being "custom" the build quality would be better than off the shelf.

So I decided to take your advice and called today before the knife made it in. The representative I spoke with was very nice and helpful. She said as long as my knife originally came from the custom shop, then the upgrades/changes I requested would be possible. So I should have my new custom 555 with M4 sheepsfoot and black g10 handles in a week or so. I will post pics when it gets here.

That sounds awesome! I have a large S30V Grip from the custom shop I might do this for. What did they say they'll charge for swapping blade materials and grips? Can you change blade shape? (I.e. go from drop point 551 to sheepsfoot 550)
